I have nothing against discussions where the Best Response has already been granted... I respond any discussion that I find interesting and where I consider my contribution to be of any use. I haven't got a best response in months, but that doesn't mean I should stop posting. Discussions that have a best response assigned also earn me money...

yeah..morale boost n satisfaction is more worth than anything BR can afford to pay..its all for inner satisfaction that we take part in others' discussions, advice as per our knowledge, sort out their problems..its more worth than anything..thats d reason we find ppl from countries, who can't be paid, still continue to remain active here...
so getting a BR is like a handshake acknowledged...well if BR is already marked nothins gonna change right..

Usually I don't, unless it is something that I am very interested in. I think that it is always fun to try to get a BR. If I have a totally different opinion or thought than of course yes I will respond. I have seen some discussions that BR's after only a couple of hours, I think the discussion starter should wait a bit longer to award the BR.

I rarely see a check the Best Response marking while responding to discussions. The things that concern me while responding to discussions are whether the discussion is of my interest and whether the response I`m going to post is valuable to at least one of the user. So responding to a discussion which already has got a best response does not matter to me. I`ll respond if the discussion is a good one to respond.

yeah jeeva..our posts may carry a dimension which might have not occurred to a person..so looking at your post it might open up to him..so our posts are equally valuable whether or not a BR is awarded...
thanks jeeva

Yes if a discussion is interesting even if there is a best response i will answer it without problems i reality i don't put much attention when i open the discussion where i want post my opinion to the best response and so i will continue to the answer button as soon..

hey tonnyllenium..thats the spirit...y the damn should we care about BR to express our views...its all the relative perception of ts to judge the BR n even it is already marked that should not come in our way...
nice thought...happy lotting

I would add info if I thought it were worth posting. Its not jus the questioner that reads my posts. Others can get alternate opinion. It does decrease my interest in posting abt it. He seems to got his question answered. I dk if it would be too late to say an opinion against the best response.

you have a point..the posts are not just an answer that is adjudged right or wrong and evaluate accordingly as in university exams..posts are our point of view and definitely each of the posts will carry different opinions..our post might have something which may give reader a new dimension of thought..so its never too late to express ourselves..
n opining against BR shouldn't be a hesitation..as BR is the best response so far before u post..ur post might have something far deeper than BR..so in discussion point of view what u do is good dude..kudos to u..

I have to admit that I rarely notice if a best response has been chosen or not. I don't look for that. I only respond to a discussion once I've read it all the way through and see that maybe there is something else I can contribute. I can't respond to discussions just for the sake of responding. I'm not good at fudging my answers LOL I think receiving a best response is wonderful, and certainly a compliment from the originator of the discussion, but I never set out with the intention of "trying" to earn one.

yeah..response is not for the heck of giving one..good that u at least go through the description..many times i see people responding just to the question in bold..the description might ask for some other thing..then the people response will be completely out of the discussion...
anyways with ur marvellous 2165 posts of experience,i dont think so earning BR is a desperate thought...but as u said a reward from originator is always a +ve feeling...thank u

No I never have not answered a discussion because it already had a best response. I usually never even notice if a discussion has a best response or not. If I think it is a good discussion then I will answer it. I have never thought that somebody may not answer my discussion becuas I have already givin it a best response, which I usually forget to do, so it really isn't a problem to me.

The best response doesn't really matter. I still respond if I find I want to speak my mind about a specific subject brought up.

hi jessi..nice thing..well looking at the responses im getting here i think seniors my lotters doesnt care much for BR status..putting it the other way, with time we stop caring for BR or ratings n just involve ourselves in discussions..extra cents on BR is not a fantasy anymore n all we care is for thought provoking discussions....so a positive move isnt it??

It makes no difference to me that a Best Response has been given. If the discussion is something I'm interested in I'll respond.

I must admit I don't respond to discussions that already have a BR because I think that once that is rewarded the person who started that discussion will most likely not even read your response so I see no point in responding to that even if the topic interests me.

It really doesn't matter to me if ther eis a best response or not. If the disucssion is interesting enough, I will reapond, even when I see a best reasponse has been chosen. Usually after a best response, there aren't anymore responses, unless it is a very interesting discussion then it can contimue to go on for awhile. If the discussion isn't all that interesting, then I won't bother with the discussion whether there is a best response or not. Good luck to you and happy mylotting

yeah...first of all discussion must have some stuff...i did one that targeted only a few local lotters from my country..definitely that couldn't be of any relevance to others..so it was huge flop..BR dint have any effect there..
so if discussion really has some thought provoking things, responses continue to flow..
thanks rosekiss..

Okay, honestly, when I landed in a discussion that already has BR response, it turns down my willing to put response because there is no chance for me to win BR,,hehehe..I know, I didn't always hope or think about BR when type my response, but I will think that person already find what he/she looking for. Maybe I will response if I really have personal or unforgettable experience about that topic, but if no I choose to go from that page.. It's strange, I know, but it's what I feel..

its not at all strange chrysan...it depends on discussion too right..if a discussion brings the memories n u want to share them..in that case my lot happens to be the best partner..so by putting down those feelings it really relaxes our heart...
at the same time if it is based on a movie n BR is marked,it dampens interest of some..well that's not an offense...
thanks for a frank response chrysan

For me the best thing is to reply according to what I feel about a particular discussion. My replies should not be a material to please the people. According to me the only earning from MyLot is not money. We get to know so many new things, so many new ways in which people write for discussions, the way certain people perceive things which sometimes I am not able to do. Also I am learning a lot about writing. I am getting to know different ideas and the ways we can change our thought process to understang things in different ways. Hopefully I will become better at communication after spending some quality time at MyLot.

Now, I respond to any discussion that I find interesting. Even if it has already marked a response as Best Response, I would still love to share my ideas on that particular subject.

Even if you did had marked the best response in this one, still i would have responded here, as it doesn't matters much to me.. But yep if i see the user had marked someone as best, than i would definatelyu scroll to that particular response(if discussion is not too too long though)
