Purported Kenyan Birth Certificate - Still to be authenticated.

At least the question of Obama's birth is now a matter of Congressional Record. I wonder if the document will be authenticated. Photo of document also on the link: http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=105895 Harry Reid: Not 1 minute for 'phony issue' of birth Senate floor criticisms make sure dispute is in Congressional Record Only a day after a document purporting to be President Obama's birth certificate from Kenya was submitted to a court in California, the long-running dispute over his birth and eligibility to occupy the Oval Office has been entered into the Congressional Record – by a Democrat no less. WND reported over the weekend when California attorney Orly Taitz, who has filed a number of lawsuits demanding proof of Obama's eligibility to serve as president, released a copy of the document. She also filed a motion in a federal court seeking authentication of the information. While the White House – several times – has ridiculed the controversy without providing the original long-form birth certificate that probably would answer many of the questions, Congress has diligently and studiously ignored the issue. Virtually the only reference on Capitol Hill has been a proposal from Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., to require future presidential candidates to document their eligibility under the U.S. Constitution's demand the president be a "natural born" citizen." This document purports to be a Kenyan certification of birth for Barack Obama, allegedly born in Mombasa, Kenya, in 1961 But now the Senate has plunged into the dispute, even if unwillingly, with a statement from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who formally elevated it to arguably the highest debate level in the land. "Let's be clear. It's a phony issue and does not deserve even a minute of our attention on the floor of the United States Senate," Reid announced today, giving the issue just that minute. "It's absurd, irresponsible, baseless and the false claims of long ago have been refuted. "The American people have every right to expect us to solve real problems before creating fake problems," he said. Glenn Thrush at Politico commented that Reid "may not have given them a full minute of attention of the Senate floor, but now the birther movement has a permanent spot in the official Congressional Record, thanks to Reid's speech." Reid said the dispute "is getting far too much attention lately, one that ignores the undeniable and proven fact that President Obama was born in the United States." Ironically, during the 2008 campaign, Reid called for "total transparency" in regard to Republican presidential candidate John McCain. I think that the Senate and Congress should send a group of them to Kenya to interview Obamas relatives - including his paternal grandmother who is now under guard for saying that she was present at his birth in Kenya. It is high time this was settled or Obama leave office - not that I want Biden for President but at least Biden is eligible but it seems that Obama is not.

That sounds like a good idea but like you the thought of Biden as president is not too pleasing.

As Ronald Reagan used to say "there you go again". His birth record has been authenticated by the authorities in Hawaii. Why doesn't Politico repeat the statements that they way a while back, stating that he was born in Hawaii. Is Politico "flip flopping" now? Republicans are doing every thing and using every dirty trick they can think of to try and bring down the present administration of our United States of America. If you believe the lies that he was born in Kenya, I feel sorry for you.

I feel sorry for you if you do not think that Obama should show the documentation to prove he has the legal right to be our president. What is he hiding that he spends almost a millions dollars on a law firm to keep things covered up. BTW I am (was) a registered Democrat but I do NOT like all this secrecy perpetrated by a Democratic President. It shames me for the Democratic Party!.

I am not saying I believe it....but sense his own family is claiming that he was born there I think it needs to be looked into at the very least. Plus I am tired of the nonsense. This has gone on long enough. It definately is a valide question. EVERY president should have to prove that he is legally qualified to be president and have to produce said documentation on demand. I say look into it and make a ruling. That way which ever way it goes it is done with and we can move on to other issues.

It is one thing to say "my relative is president of us now" and then saying "he was born in kenya and we were present at his birth". Maybe his relatives are lying for attention. WHo knows. But it needs to be looked into either way.

hi whiteheather, what the heck difference does it make where he was born, if he does good as President and gets us out of this horrible economic mess, I as one could care less. of course I am not a republican as many of you think we d emocrats are all devils in disguise, but I think more time should be spent of getting all our jobless people including my son back into jobs, and seeing that all Americans, not just those with lots of money, have adequate health care. I know you probaly dont agree with me but you have always respected my view point as I have yours, hatley here. i HAVE been gone for almost nine months,my son lost his job which created huge problems so we were homeless now I am here inthis retirement center and hes in transitional housing with three other guys who are all out of work. here in southern ca. there are a zillion people out of work for every job that can be had. we need the president to help out here, if he does that I dont care if he was born on Mars. bye good luck God bless

It makes one heck of a difference as to whether he is legally authorized to be president and even get us deeper into the financial mess we are in. I am (was?) a registered Democrat but the secrecy surrounding Nobama is a slur on the Democratic party. Obama is one of the main reasons your son is out of work.

whiteheather, I think you have milked this for all it is worth. And I realize the truth hurts some times. We will live with it the way it is and after the recovery, which is already starting to take place, we will re-elect Obama as our President.

Well Reid calls making sure our President is legally qualified a "false issue". Heck I would think it was a hugely important issue to make sure not only the presidnet but all of our elected officials meet the legal requirements for the job. Those laws are in place for a reason. But once again.....some people tend to ignore laws and rules they don't like or are inconvient. Obama may very well be legally qualified. He may not. But I feel the issue needs to looked at and solved on way or another so we can move on to other issues.

You said "I feel the issue needs to looked at and solved on way or another so we can move on to other issues." I agree with you 100% we need to take care of this issue. We need to know he he is legally president before he get us into eny more debt.

I find it absolutely hilarious that the only 0bama birth certificates we will ever see will be fakes. And I'm counting the one the Dems are trying to cook up as we speak. Our gov't is handling this the exact same way China handled the age of the female gymnasts during the Olympics. Hhhmmm.

You are so right! It does seem very similar to the Chinese age controversy. If Obama can spend over $800,000.00 dollars on a law firm to keep the issue under wraps then I am sure he can afford to have a master forger prepare a birth certificate for him.

Found this article online thought you might find of interst: http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread487621/pg1 FORGERY MOST-LIKELY CONFIRMED It appears that the Kenyan birth certificate contains too many similarities to an Australian birth certificate found online. A summary post of the collaborative findings of several ATS members can be found here This thread will remain in the "Political Conspiracies" forum as a forged document intended to discredit the President of the United States is indeed a very compelling political conspiracy.

Thank you for that very interesting link. The comments were very good. I also want to take the opportunity to apologize for the contents of the discussion appearing twice. I do not have clue how that happened.
