Anyone know anything about Drop shipping?

I've been looking into it and it seems confusing, a lot of sites have a fee and I checked forums which say the ones with a fee are most likely scams. So I found a few free ones, but I'm still not sure. The free ones have mixed or no reviews. I'm not sure if I should try it. If I did try it I would use ebay, but then there's ebays fees, so I'm uncertain. Has anyone had any experience with this? (I'm in the UK)
