In my own POV, america is now the dominant power in the world, they keep control of almost everything, wars, technologies, businesses and so on. One country should come into power to check and balance this power or else--to your own question: what would be in the future?--they could become dictator. However, in the other side, they are playing a great role as a hero against terrorism but they themselves are terrorizing territories where they are present disguised as helping.
