How do you decide to respond ? Do you judge a book with its cover?

Hi Mylotters,
How do you decide a discussion? Will you see the topic of the discussion and open it and see the entire details? Or simply the topic alone
I have heard that some will simply see the topic and ignores the content inside. So some nice topics eventhough hits top list will never get many responses.
How you people feel on this?

I see. I have a lot of topics that result like this friend. Some times it's just about what people see firstly. We are attracted to certain things when they are just right.

I am attracted to a discussion for several reasons.
It could be the title or the topic or the poster. Sometimes I know that some posters have difficulty in finding a catchy title but their dicussion will be very interesting.
I also notice how many posts the user has and if it's a new user trying very hard then I will often leave a response to encourage them

There is no hard and fast rule for me to respond to a discussion. As I would say covers are the ones that are going to make the first impression. So topics are more important. I wont be looking into a discussion if that topic did not look interesting. I`ll reply to a topic only if that topic looks somewhat familiar to me. So topics do matter in mylot.
