With The Power Of Your Mind...

Some of us might remember Prue from the tv series Charmed, she was the sister that could move things with her mind. I was thinking about her this morning and wondered how other ppl would react if they found out that their child could do this. Would you freak out over it? Would you have them use it to help do things around the house? Would you encourage them to hide it or use it? What if it was you that suddenly found you could do this?
I think if it were my kid I wouldn’t tell them not to use it but to be careful using it around other ppl b/c some ppl might not understand about it. I’d also worry about the government wanting to take them away to “study”. If it was me that suddenly was able to do it, I’d use it at home but not out in public. I think it would be kind of neat to be able to do.

Man twoey, I would just LOVE to be able to move things with my mind. I would never need a man again for the heavy stuff. If my daughter suddenly showed this ablitiy, I would definately curb her to only using her power in our home where noone else can witness it. Same with me. I sure wouldn't want either one of us to suddenly be whisked away to some awful labratory for their own study.

Now, that's a "super power" I could use! Rearranging the furniture would be a snap. Not to mention rearranging the landscape (I spent yesterday working on my front garden, moving rocks & plants).
I wonder if I could use it on myself to get me out of bed?

What an interesting question. I've never seen that show, but that sounds like a cool power. No, if my child had such great powers I would not freak out over it. I would feel special, proud, and impressed. No, I wouldn't make them use their powers, because I would feel that would be like violating their rights. However, they would have the option to do their chores however they wished. At times, I'd make them do things by hand. To teach them the value, and importance, of hard work. I would encourage them to hide it outside the house and away from people they didn't know. I'd be afraid if someone caught them, they'd steal them or harm them. If I suddenly found out I could do this, I'd be testing my powers out to see what I could do and what my limits were.

It's a nice gift but it can be a dangerous one and i hope if i had one of these powers. i would do my best not to use them often, unless it is necessary.hey, that girl is from beverly hills 90210.

You know to even have Pipers power to blow things up and freeze them or even Phoebies premonitions. Dosnt matter like you I would use that gift in the privacy of my own home and arround trusted friends. IF it was one of my kids I would say the same thing dont use it on public or at school no matter how small the task seams. That is something that is for private use only.

Same use it but without being caught. Human curiousity can disrupe another's peaceful life. If I or my future children would gain such powers I would help them train it, since they have it you must use it. It's like your legs and arms, by training them you can be a better runner or lift greater weights... still in such cases it's better to share with only the ones that know to hold the value known as trust and secrets. Using these abilities to aid your family is well but others too good but hidden you must remain to avoid too much attention and unpleasant reaction. It's also like a price you have it but cannot praise yourself with it. If you were able it would have had a bad influence to your personality of other matters...so a price will still be paid.

I think i would encourage one to be careful using the power in public. One might either become feared or considered a freak because they are different. I agree that there would be a risk of people wanting to study someone with the capability. I can even see some government's going as far as ruling a parent an unfit parent and gaining custody of the child so they could do what they wanted.
If it was myself I'd use it at home around family...around people who knew me or accepted that i'm already a bit of a weirdo. Think how awesome it would be to be in this nice comfy position..you drop the remote and you dont have to get up then get all comfy again because you needed to use it! I might even drop fewer things if i was doing it with my mind cause I'm kind of a klutz...either that or i'd drop more because my mind wanders!

Do you recall Tabitha and how Darwin [Darren really] of Bewitched reacted when his daughter started moving things?! I would love it if I found I could do it. I think I would initially freak about it. I would encourage them to use it but in the confines of society. I worry how the government would react also. I would use it in public at times. You betcha. It would be neat!

Wow twoey,
You have really thought this through. I would find the power very exciting whether it be with my Son or me. I believe each of us would be very responsible with it. Although, I'd get a few kicks out of it with my Siblings. Yeah, I'd have some safe fun with it. Hugsss

I believe in the power of my mind...to think positively and also logically where it can achieve greater cognitive abilities than the usual ones. By conquering your mind, we can be shocked to see the results of that in our academic and also other areas of our life. About moving items and objects that I am not very sure but the cognitive abilities for sure it will develop and improve.

hello there... wow!!!!! that would awesome!!!hmmm.. i would also tell them to be careful when they use their powers.... and if they can do it without using powers it would much better... he/she is no different to others... like in spiderman... GREAT POWERS COMES WITH GREAT RESPONSIBILITY.....And they always remember that there is still God who is greater than us...
have a nice day......

I think it would be awesome! I would be happy as a lark to have those kind of powers...of course I wouldn't be letting everyone know about them though so they wouldn't think i was a freak or such. But it is hard if kids have it. I mean they can't control it especially if they are mad or upset. They'd be hurting people without meaning to. I think they should bring charmed back..and make it to where they have kids and are teaching the children to deal with the craft as they learned. I think it would be neat to have a Charmed2

I agree with you. It would be great to use around the house like on the old Bewithed series, Samantha was always cleaning, cooking, doing something with her powers. They had a baby, Sabrina, who was doing all kinds of things and they were trying to get her to curb when she did it.
The Government study one reminds me of the geniuses on the Pretender. Those kids were put through horrible experiments for the sake of science and DNA manipulation to create super-humans even toward the end.
Cleaning things in 1/10 the time would be sooo cool. Can you imagine what you could do with that time?

Hi twoey, Charmed was my favourite programme at one stage and yes I remember Pru, the gift she had is called telekinisis...it is a fact that there are some people who can use their mind to move things...there are exercises you can do to 'nurture' that ability and anyone could do it if they tried.
If I had the ability then I would probably use it indoors and when it was needed not that people saw me doing it though, it would be great to close doors, turn lights off and a load of other things I would be over the moon. If my daughter or son could do it then I would ask them to keep it to themselves and only use the ability when someone wasn't looking.but wouldn't want them to hurt anyone with it either.
She did Astral Travelling too, that is something that has to be worked on too it is a fantastic thing to do but another story....LoLo

There are some that say that if we applied ourselves we would be amazed at what we could do with our minds. I don’t know whether they are referring to the type of skills Prue had but wouldn’t it be great?
It would be a privilege and like so many open to abuse. If the wrong person was to obtain such a gift can you imagine the destruction he or she could bestow on the world?
If I discovered my seven year old daughter had this ability I would not encourage her to use it until she was much older and in the meantime educate her in the responsibility that would come with such a gift.
As for myself I would love to use it to eliminate those pesky time consuming household chores that my days are filled with!

I remember after I saw Uri Geller on TV for the first time, I would have been around 5 years old. I was amazed by his power to bend spoons and wanted to do it myself.
My mum found sat in the dinning room by myself attempting to bend a spoon. When I was told that we need our spoons straight, I took it upon myself to try other things. I tried stopping watches and clocks, moving a chair around the room and switching the TV off. I failed on all accounts!
I still think the ability to switch the TV on and off and changing channels with the power of your mind would be brilliant.

Hi twoey68! I love Charmed! it was actually the first tv series i remember being addicted to. My favorite though is Piper Halliwel. It's kind of cool to have super powers like them. Being able to move things with your mind, predict the future, travel in time. I sooo love Charmed! I wish it still airs up to now. :(
