Harmonix is releasing The Beatles Rock Band, a videogame where you can follow the Fab Four on their journey to the top, by actually playing their songs using the guitar controller, drum controller, or microphone. Released 9/9/9 (three guesses why), check out thebeatlesrockband.com for more information. It's gonna be awesome, playing those familiar songs we all love.

There are way too many games why can't they just make it a DLC so you don't have to buy more

hummmm, 9-9-9 is 666 upside down? I don't know. I've never gotten into these kinds of games, but I LOVE the Beatles - I doubt I have a machine I could play it on - I think my last game machine was a Nintendo 2

nah - 9/9/9 is a referance to Revolution #9 "number 9, number 9, number 9" and nine being John Lennon's favourite number.

Hmmm...I thought it was something FAR simpler than that: Considering the significance of the symbolism of 9-11, you have only to look at what would be a British equivalent symbol. For Americans who may not know, the British version of the numbers 911 (emergency) is 999. In other words in the UK if you want to call emergency services, you dial 999. I thought it was a simple reference to that. But the Revolution stuff and Lennon stuff MAY be the true story....or maybe the two combined? Maybe we can get the marketers to confirm for us?

it's not really my kind of thing and wasn't really sure how well it'd fit the whole idea/brand of The Beatles. I was afraid it'll turn out to be a trashy/tacky looking cash-in made only to rip off the people who'd buy anything with The Beatles on it, and kids/teens wanting to look cool but from the screen shots/publicity pictures I've seen it looks gorgeous.

Doesn't it look fantastic? I have to say that the buzz has been in my house over this for months...ever since my sons, all huge Rock Band fans and who all know very well what a huge Beatles fan I am, first found out it was on the horizon. I still predict this to be the Christmas gift sell-out of the season this year. And speaking of my sons, thanks #1 son for posting (aka Doogy) this discussion! You beat me to it by a month!
