Going back to college ,big fears , how to overcome them

Some are going to think this is funny, others have probably been in same spot . First of all let me say I am a 37 year old mother . Yesterday I was supposed to meet with a lady at the University to see if I qualify for financial aide. Well first thing her directions to the building I was supposed to meet her at were not the greatest . The building I ended up at used to be student services but now they have turned it into a gym. The university is doing major reconstruction. Well the campus was huge , I had no idea where to go. I stopped and asked several people , who gave me different directions on where the building was . Still all were wrong . I started to get over anxious now . To the point to where I got in my car and left . My fears had overcome me . Not fears like I was afraid of being hurt , but almost like a panic attack . I am afraid , I belive of going back to school at my age , but at the same time I know I have to do it for my family . So now what should I do. There is a smaller community college in my area , I think I will start there first and work my way up to the bigger university. Has anyone had a similar situation, or can someone give me advise on what to do ? Thank you for reading this .
