With the movie 2012 being released soon, this has been something I have been thinking about recently. Everybody knows that after awhile, species go extinct. My question to you guys is whether or not you believe the human race is due to die out, whether from nuclear war, global warming, ect.

no i don't because this has been being talked about for over 1,000 years and probably much longer than that. the only way i could see humans becoming extinct anytime soon is if an asteroid big enough hits the earth. most if not all countries are not dumb enough to release a nuclear weapon because it would be a no win situation for the whole world. as far as global warming is concerned people are taking neccessary steps to prevent it so countries are going towards the right path.

You don't think it's very likely that an asteroid big enough will hit the Earth? There is only so long that our planet can go without being hit by something; space is only so big after all.

Right now, scientists have discovered that we are in between two ice ages. Whenever the next ice age comes around, is when the human race will become extinct. That is, unless, however we can figure out a way to live on the Moon or one of the other planets, or some way in space. At this point, I don't see that happening, but I don't see the ice age coming any time too soon either. Especially, since a number of people still believe in global warming.

It is a question hard to answer. Maybe we'll become extinct one day. Extreme weather, Air, Soil and Water pollution, Global pandemic, Attacks from aliens, Meteorites strike, Earth and other planets' activities ……
all these factors can put us to the edge of extinction and we and other inhabitants of this planet are actually very fragile. But we should not be the initiators of evil only because of our selfishness and ignorance. Fortunately, unlike other inhabitants of this planet, we still have culture and technology, we at least can do something to improve the technology, learn this potential deadly factors, find possible solutions and try to prevent them as possible as we can.
