Well my friend, if you have good knowledge of computer hardware then it is very much proffered to have an assembled computer so that you can modify things as and when required very easily. and if you are very ignorant about these things then i think it is better to have a branded computer. it may cost a bit more but then the things are reliable and you get support from the company which is very much necessary then.

well you are right... ummm i guess you have an assembled one right ?
yeah i too preferred something to my choice and i prefer assembled ones too, can change damaged parts easily and don't have to worry about giving the computer away for servicing and all when i can change parts myself... although the brand ones do have warranty and all that but in an assembled pc i do have warranties on individual components so I can change and upgrade them to my needs whenever i need :)

I've had several computers over the years! The only ones I bought were brand ready, They are cheaper than ordering special ones. I checked into it, I get HP brand and have never been sorry. My company provided me and others with Dells and they were always having problems! We traveled all the time for the job and it was a pain! tdemex

My pocket always dictates my preference.) So I would go to assembled/custom built, this way I could stretch the budget to where I needed it most. Probably even if I had the the money I would still choose the first because I could tailor my PC the way I wanted it to be.

In the past I've bought branded computers, but I think I want to assemble my own next time. Not only can you save money this way, but you get to design your computer from the ground up, picking what components you want. You can also challenge yourself to do interesting things if you are assembling your own computer as well. For instance, I think it might be fun to try to assemble a computer made with no parts from China...that's basically unheard of nowadays, but I think you might be able to do it if you use Taiwanese parts.

I use assembled desktop at my home and branded ready configured desktop in office. In office, its no option other than use it but at home I preferred assembled so that I can choose brands for each hardware component. This helped me in assembling best brands together and set the budget for the desktop.

Hey,
Well personally I like to have computers that I can buy straight away that are brand ready, that is my opinion anyway. I mean, it seems pretty good to know that you assembled a computer yourself but I prefer buying it already made. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!
