the helplessness of us all...

The following is not really a discussion but a rant about life. Maybe you will see it as a bleak, nonsensical vent of frustration or maybe you agree with my point that we are all helpless and any 'self-progression' in life is futile.
Basically, all my ramblings will stem back to this point, why do we devlop our selves when we alll inevitably die at some point.
So why work out when even the strongest of athletes will eventually grow old and weak? So old and weak that they need the assitance of younger people jus to function. Furthermore, Why develop any skills for at some point your brain will become so old you forget you even learned them never mind be able to put them into practice.
Yet, how about the fragile vessels we enbody? the human body is incredibly fragile and weak. we hear of thousands of people every single day dying before their time. Why if life is temporary are we so posessed by money, when it cant be taken with us? Why do anything when we are so helpless to begin with? Why is society so integrated with violence and deception instead of embracing objectives that will actually benefit us all, as an antire species?
rant over!

I think the very fact that society is, as you say "so integrated with violence and deception" suggests that rather than being pointless and bleak, life is rich and fascination and seems so abundant that people tend to waste it. And conversely, those of us who strive every minute to be better in some way, do so in an effort NOT to squander it. Well, that is my attempt at an answer, and now I have a two word rant of my own to add:
Why not?
