We all know that our country is in an obesity crisis. With fast food restaurants super-sizing everything from burgers to sodas, we need help to combat rising cases of obestiy in adults as well as our children. Now regular exercise is not a fun routine part of some people's day. In fact, walking to the couch, and click the remotsontrol can be the most exercise done in a day, which label an individual as a "couch potato." Even though we don't like to do traditional exercises, there are ways to incorporated some exercise into your daily routine that can be beneficial to your heart and overall health. Some examples of sneaky ways to get exercise are, parking your car far away from a store's entrance and walk to and from the store, you should take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator, and one of my favorites is to, walk the mall from end-to-end. I like this last one because I feel safer that walking around outdoor. Do you exercise regularly? If not what do you do that could be considered exercising in your daily routine. Can you think of other nontraditional exercises?

people with overweight not only looks odd but they are at a higher risk for heart attacks, kidney problems, diabetics and knee problems. For every kg of excess weight, three times the weight falls on our knees and since it do not have the capacity to carry that much weight, slowly it starts wearing out and over a period of time forcing us for a knee replacement surgery. Some obese people even experience the problem of swelling in their feet often if they sit for a long time. Yes there is a way to combat all these by doing simple yoga and breathing exercise for 1/2 an hour every day. which takes care of obesity and heart problem. I am doing that and seeing the difference. Walking rejenuvates our system, yoga makes our muscles strong but pranayama (breathing excercise) cures the disease. This is my personal experience

You are so right, being overweight is very unhealthy and can be deadly. It reeks havoc on you mentally, physically and psychologicaly. The heart and the knees are some of the most damaged parts of our bodied due to being overweihg, however they are not the only body parts that suffer, the liver becomes a "fatty" liver also. To have a healthy body and a healthy attitude about life, we should try to get some moderate exercise in and watch our diets.

I knew there were people in the world like you. People who eat healthy and gets plenty of execise. Have you always had this healthy mindset, or did you one day just decide that you needed to change your life? Whatever your reply to this question, I think it is great that you have such discipline and fortitude to exercise everyday and stay away from fast food. Good for you.

No i haven't always been this way. I used to be fat and unhealthy but about two years ago I started walking my dog lot more often so he wouldn't get over weight. hes a big dog so he needs a lot of exercise every day and when i started doing that I lost a lot of weight and then i started changing how i eat and i lost even more. now its a habit. its just something i do and like doing it.
