Aren't you proud of being Filipino?

I had always been proud of being Filipino. The patriotism is in the heart. I always pray that our leaders find the sincerity to govern with unconditional loving, especially towards the deprived. Yesterday though, at the interment of our former president Cory Aquino, the Filipinos had come out and endured heat and rain just to be by her side at the funeral procession. I was an overwhelming show of love and gratitude. Affirmed my belief that being a Filipino is a blessing.

im not against being a filipino but sometimes, i dont see pinoys doing the best they can for the good of being a filipino. look at the philippines, our country is so poor because of our lame leaders. people should realize that they should use their political powers for the good of our country and not for their greediness. right now i am just doing the best i can even in small things and try hard to set a good example for my fellow countrymen. because of this, i can say that i am proud of myself being a filipino.

Do take care, wherever you are, fellow Filipino. Hope springs eternal. One day, we will see these islands as truly the pearl of the orient seas.

yes i am so proud to be a Filipino. Especially yesterday when our former president Corazon Aquino was laid to rest. Once again, the Filipinos were united once again because of her. She's the icon of democracy and one of the major reason why we are enjoying this kind of life. There are many things about us Filipinos so we should be proud of our race.

I'm proud to be a Filipino. I am one of those people who watched the live stream video coverage online since I am living abroad. I am just depending news daily via gmanews.tv. I was happy that I was able to glimpse what happened yesterday. It was overwhelming and I can say that Filipinos still know how to stand for freedom, democracy and unity. I will always be a Filipino, no matter where I am today, I am proud of my roots. I do hope that something good will happen in our country despite the fact that the government is still pushing on Charter Change. Anyway, we will stand for what is right and good. Happy Mylotting.

I am sure that in time everything will come to place. Right now, the politicians are asserting their superiority over their colleagues. Selfishness had been a prime factor. Many had gotten away with self-serving avarice. The people though know who they are. Somehow the long hand of the law had come upon the most blatant power grabbers. One day, justice will prevail.

i haven't watched former President Cory Aquino's interment but i do know that a lot of Filipinos gave their support and thanks until now. i am proud to be a Filipino and it saddens me how only a few of us would actually say that. i sometimes feel that patriotism is one value that is underrated. and it saddens me how some Filipinos still search for a reason why they should be proud to be Filipinos. what if she's still alive, would they remember what she did during that time before she became president? If manny pacquiao isn't great in boxing would they even be proud to be Filipinos? i hope that patriotism can be uplifted in our country. and i do hope that there would come a time when Filipinos would be proud to be what they are. Because honestly, do we even need a reason? :)

I think that with the Filipino diaspora that commenced in the 70's, the world is now beginning to acknowledge the waves the Filipinos are creating in all the four corners of the globe. Manny Pacquiao had his destiny marked in boxing... but so did Lea Salonga and Arnel Pineda in singing. Bata Reyes was hailed magician of the pooling world. There are many nameless Filipinos dominating their respective fields of expertise. We don't need to list the names. Patriotism is in the heart. Yet when one shines like Charice... let us kindly applaud the name.

yes. i do think so too. "pinoy pride" isn't that bad but when pride turns to bragging (which sometimes happen), then it becomes a problem.

i am proud to be a FILIPINO, and will always be! in everything i do i make it a point to exude the beauty of being a Filipino. when i was in the US, my co-workers acknowledged the fact that i did make an impact in the organization having the following trademarks of being a Filipino... hardworking, showed so much passion with work and respect with co-workers, creative, used to do multi-tasking, trustworthy and tough. i am the only Filipino in the organization of black and white americans but i am so grateful for the support and love they gave me. they did because i know and i believe that i deserve the respect and love not only as a person, a co-worker, but as a FILIPINO.

i AM proud of being filipino, but there are people who just ruin that pride for me. we filipinos have good traits in general, but we are also known all over the world for some embarrassing traits, and instead of trying to change those, people continue to display these traits.

Yes. I am proud that I'm a Filipino. There are a lot of things to be proud of. One of those things is how we value and respect our family and other people. I have heard that some countries don't have these qualities. Also, Filipinos are multi-talented and hard-working. I've heard that some countries hires us because of these qualities.

Our being closely knit (clannish to a point), ingenuous and passionate - these are what make us a cut above the rest. We don't need therapists because there is already a confidant within the family. We don't need a series of letters after our names because we learn easily and adapt conveniently in any situation. And yes, given the opportunity, we always deliver the best. Just as proud as you are!

Same sentiments here. We are a sacrificing lot. We also know how to give credit where it is due. I am sure Tita Cory had seen our gratitude as she floats up to heaven.

i have been always proud to be a filipino. i have been to many countries but Philippines is still the most accomodating country that i have been. Aside from our culturem food and beliefs, the people here are warmer. The places here like beach, museums and churches area always nice. Aside from that our unique slums, the street foods, the drinking sessions along the road, the street fights... these things also adds up why we are unique. Like any other country there are also ups and downs but we , Filipino leaving in our own land knows how to fight and cope up with problems. This is why im so proud to be a Filipino and to live here in the Philippines.
