Friends and best friends are two totally different things. We can find and meet friends easily almost everywhere, but to put a label someone as our best friend, its not easy to do. For me, my best friends know me very well, understand my sorrow and my needs, and always be there when I asked for help. Didn't condemn, instead give understanding and support too. Once, I had a friend like that, but now she very far away from me and she also taught me a valuable lesson of life as she do not stingy to share with me her experiences.

My best friend was my former co-worker before. And no you dont choose your bestfriends. You dont even get to know that they are your bestfriend. You just realize one day that someone was always there for you and he or she is someone that you always want to be with. I found her not because I choose her to be my friend but because when times that other people have left you she was always there. We are both exact opposite in terms of temperament and other character traits but the fact that we always stick together that makes us the best of friends. I just laugh at this people saying that this is my bestfriend, that is my best friend and you ask them why they say because they always have happy moments. But they didnt know that bestfriends are created through worse times. I've heard about this two teenage boys who got lost in an island after a storm capsized their father's fishing boat. The other boy who was actually a good swimmer swam for miles to the nearest island to get help, leaving the other n other boy on the island. He actually went back with a rescue crew and the other boy faithfully waited for him for 5 days in some desolate island. Come to think of it, they didnt even know each other before the unfortunate storm. They ended up being best of friends.

My best friend is a girl that I've been friends with since before we were in kindergarten. Her name is Erica. Why is she my best friend? Well, there are tons of reasons: as children we had a lot in common from going to the same school and church to being in Girl Scouts together and even living in the same neighborhood. When we were teenagers and my father passed away, she helped me through my grief and my denial of our faith so that I am now stronger in my faith than I was prior to my father passing away. Even now that we are both grown with children of our own (I have 2 she has 5), we are still able to talk about everything and she is even my youngest son's Godmother.
