Why is it that rain drops but snow falls?

Why do people say that rain drops and not falls and coming to snow we say snow falls and not drops..why is this difference....can anyone tell me ...and do u guys really enjoy the rain and the snow...myself enjoy a lot...happy mylotting

Good question, but i dont know the answer, i love rain and snow equally.

Because rain is liquid and snow is solid? Liquid drips, so the action of the rain will be refered to as drop. Hence, rain drop. Snow is crystalise water, ice, so they fall they dont drip nor drop. Am I right? Good question here, hope my students dont ask me this question ever in my teaching life! Hahaha...
