Mylot does not have a set amount that they give to us users. The more qualified your discussion that you started is the more you will get. The more you write in a response the more earnings you will get. Just writing one or two lines won't cut it here at all and if you do it might get deleted as they want well qualified answers to responses and well started discussions. I think we all wish how they calculated here, but if you are active here and know you can write a lot to responses in one day you shouldn't worry about the totals earnings, but just keep writing everyday and stay active here and you can earn a great amount like many other users here. Enjoy Mylotting.

I don't mean to be critical (or to offend you, Lologirl) but, for the sake of those who might be confused about 'qualified' and 'quality', it's worth pointing out that quality is what is important. I suppose that one can gain a reputation for being 'qualified' to answer or discuss something by the authority, accuracy and consistency with which you do so. Your discussions and responses are always a model of what MyLot calls 'quality'. I wouldn't dispute, either, that you are admirably qualified to make the discussions and responses that you do! It's just important that, especially, people who already struggle with English, should understand the difference (and I am only too well aware that sometimes we type words that we perfectly well knew weren't the right ones ... AFTER we hit the 'post comment' button ).

No one actually knows the actual calculation that takes place..But we can tell you the factors..you can earn money by responding to discussions, creating a discussion your self, uploading your pics, and doing tasks....the amount you get paid for you participation depends on your user rating..that usually increases with more quality responses you give to a certain discussion, you can increase your earning by adding referrals..

The Discussion Rating System (your 'star' value) is certainly part of the story (the FAQs mention that it is factored into the earnings). Your User Rating (approximately the number of posts you have made) is only used, I believe, to let other people know how long you have been here (or rather, roughly how active you have been); to confer certain benefits, such as gaining a star rating (at 100), being able to use smileys (200) and being able to copy and paste (500). By far the most important factor, though, is writing quality (that is to say descriptive and inspiring) discussions, responses and comments.

1) Discussion activity earnings are calculated based on a proprietary model that rewards quality responses, relevant discussions and images. 2) What can I do to increase my earnings? * What an excellent question, and one we hope every myLot user will ask. * Use myLot, post discussions, respond to discussions. * Post quality content. For example, generate discussions that engage other users and provide insightful responses and comments to other users discussions to further the topic * Refer friends. For each person you send to myLot you will receive a bonus equal to 25% of their discussion and image earnings. (See: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14 ) Please also read the Guidelines http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx , where it says: Don't ... Post anything that inaccurately explains the myLot earnings algorithm. Our myLot mathematicians have worked long and hard on our elaborate payment system and we wouldn’t want any of our users to make them feel inadequate by breaking their algorithm in minutes. In the above passage about increasing your earnings, it should also mention that reading, understanding and following the Guidelines is essential because then you are much less likely to lose money through posting discussions or responding to those which are likely to be deleted.

Broadly speaking, in order to earn consistently and (relatively) well here, you must post quality discussions and responses - that is, your own words and, in the case of discussions, topics that are likely to encourage good responses (not just one word or one line responses). In the case of responses, you should try to say as much as you can about the subject. If you have little to say in response to a topic, it's wise to let it alone. When you create a discussion, you don't begin to earn anything for it unless someone responds and it is important to realise that you also earn for comments that you make to people's responses (again, only if you write descriptively and with quality). Commenting on your own discussions is a good way of keeping them 'alive' and you are likely to get more responses that way. Building up your friends list intelligently is another way of making sure that your discussions get responses. You are, in effect, building up a reputation for creating good discussions and giving good responses. If you can do this so that people want to visit and respond to your discussions and look forward to your responses on theirs, you will be doing well. There is no quick and easy way of making money here. The right kind of work gives the right kind of rewards. Don't waste your time (and other people's) by posting discussions and responses which are against the Guidelines. Know what MyLot is about - QUALITY discussions - and stick to what that means. It does take time to know how to word a discussion correctly so that it gets good responses: it also takes time to learn how to write good responses but it comes much easier with practice! In the beginning, try to concentrate on responding rather than posting discussions. That way you will get a feel for discussions that naturally make you want to write a paragraph or two.

It would only be deleted if someone tried to incorrectly or inaccurately explain the earnings algorithm. What I have said above is based strictly on what we know from the FAQs and Guidelines. I think that some clarification about 'comments' is needed. Many people have proved that adding quality comments to responses is worthwhile. What the Guidelines says, in effect, is "Don't add worthless comments" (i.e. just to thank people for their responses): a discussion is not really a worthwhile discussion if it's just a question with a number of answers. There should be ... well ... discussion!

No one knows how mylot figures our earnings, and to try to do so, is against the ruels. They have a formula they use, and I really don't care, because they pay us and that is all that matters The earnings are based on quality posts and not quantity. Everything has to be descriptive and stick with the topic at hand. Also, when you start a discusson, you should always comment back as that is how you get paid as well. You only get paid for your own activity, and not the activity of others. You can't post a bunch of one line posts or just a few words posts, as you won't get paid for them. Just keep this all in mind while you are posting, and you will see your earnings grow day by day. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
