italian food and tomato??

why do italian food contain tomatoes in most of their dishes? they have tomato in pizza, minestrone soup, pasta, and others.. do you know any italian meal that does not have tomato as one of the ingredients?

This I do not know the answer, would like to have friends in Italy to answer your question, but I know very tasty tomatoes, tomato scrambled eggs, ha ha, nery good food, tomatoes can be eaten raw. Value is very nutritious.

I don't know why the italian food like to have tomato.You good remark alot.I guess or tomatoes have alot in Italy equal olives but they help the italian food is delicious and healthy.

Try pasta dishes which are cream or cheese based sauces - carbonara, tagliatelle and macarroni chesse. Other good things are ravilloi as you can choose the sauce yourself if you are bying store bought or pesto. Pesto contains basil, garlic, pasley, pecorino chesse, pine nuts and olive oil and is wsonderful when mixed through pasta. I don't like tomato based sauces and find that any of the above are readily available in both shops and restaurants.

sorry friend,I don`t know the answer ,but one thing I am sure is that tomato is very tasty and nutritional food,I like tomatos.
