Most of the people I've met don't know anyone past there great grandfather/mother. Who's the last ancestor you know about in your family tree? What do you know about him/her? Did he/she look like you or do anything simular to what you do right now?

I know a fair bit actually. My dad has spent the last 7 - 8 years piecing together our family tree. With over 4000 names in it, it does keep me active for a while. I think he has dated ot back to ~1800

I have been studying my ancestory for several years. A lot of the details are sketchy at best. But I know I am related to the late Ralph Waldo Emerson. And I am actually like him somewhat in that I do public speaking and write. My grandfather was a 10th generation minister and I have tried to get all the information about his family as well as my grandmothers.

I know my ancestors dynasty lasted shorter than other Chinese dyansities, and that they were ruled by the Mongols at that time. I'm still trying to find out more about the Yuan Dynasty.

it's the discussion i just wanted to start. I watched a program called who do you think you. It's a series of findng your history or your family tree. It's really amazing program, so it gave me idea of how many members in mylot know their ancestors? I just know my grand parents from my mother and father sides both. However the memories about them are very vague. It's pity. I suppose if i search my family tree like people in the program did, maybe i can also find some interesting story of my ancestors. Who knows? happy mylotting.
