I've been snowboarding and skiing for a long time and I've been lucky enough to have traveled quite extensively to visit many ski resorts. Where do you guys believe has the best snow for skiing? I think my favorite right now might be either Lech,Austria or Niseko in Hokkaido Japan. Where do you guys recommend for good skiing in the U.S. I heard colorado was good but any specific ski resorts? How about Vermont or maybe northern california? Is it expensive?

Vail is definitely my favorite if you can afford the ticket price. You can ski a different trail every run and won't repeat the same trail in 2-3 days, that's assume you can handle all the trails. I am getting to like Beaver Creek more too because of their short lift lines. Telluride and Crested Butte is good too, but they are a little far from Denver to get there too frequent. I spend more time in Winter Park because I own a condo there and I volunteer with the Disabled ski program there. Great small town feel with good mogul skiing. If you need lodging or need information on discounts in Winter Park, let me know. Have a snow abundance ski season where ever you are.

Colorado definitely has the best snow and over 300 days of sunshine per year. Some great resorts are Breckenridge, Snowmass (over 4,000 vertical), and Beaver Creek.
I've been skiing the east for the past 8 years and I've found some awesome places. My favorite is Sugarbush in Vermont. It has a bunch of glades and is almost never crowded. It usually snows a few times a week here, so the snow is fairly fresh. Smuggler's Notch is also a hidden gem. The only thing about the east is that the snow is heavy and ice is always a problem. Plus, it's usually cloudy here.
