Attention teenagers!!!!

I have 2 teens, 15 and 14. They are both boys. What things would you have wanted your parents to pay more attention to or not pay attention to. Just tell me what kind of parents would or did make your teen years easier.

Yes, but tell me EXACTLY what i am paying attention to. I am happy to say that they are pretty open with me and aren't afraid to tell me anything.

I'm not a teen any more, but when I was I used to want to know "Why" when my parents wouldn't let me know something. Not just "because I told you so" but I wanted the real reason, like whether they were concerned for my safety or if they didn't know the people I hang with or whatever the real reason was. I also wanted the opportunity to give my views. I needed strong parents with good communication skills.

I remember feeling that way too. I never tell my kids "because I told you so" or " I'm the parent and what I say goes". I make sure I know the friend they are with and the kids parents. They are not allowed to leave the house if I don't have the friends parents # and have talk to the parent. They really hate that, I just want to make sure the other parent knows what their kid is doing as well. I think I have pretty good communication skills when it comes to them.
