Getting Little One over fear over Big Pool

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter who LOVES her little pool and will splash and go under etc. but when faced with the Big Pool at my mom's house freaks out. She does not like the Big Pool because it's "Too Much Water" (smile). So what are your techniques that you have used to try to get your child over the fear of the Big Pool? Both my husband and I were scared of the big pools too when we were younger and I don't want my daughter being the same way. I want her to enjoy the water and learn to swim really well.
