I'm a Canadian and for me this is a no brainer. Steve Nash. Great player with a great career so far. It is nice to see so many good ball players from all over the world. I remember when I was playing in high school. There were probably less than ten international players in all of the NBA. Now I can't possibly name even the majority of them. Who is your favorite player in the NBA who is not from the USA.

I'm a chinese and for me this is a big guy , yao ming , one of best center. He is so big and tall. He is such an excellent attacker that no one can stop him in paint. But it is a pity that he is injured again.

Looks like Yao Ming is easily the most well known of the international players. I think he deserves his popularity. I was kind of hoping mylotters would mention a whole lot of the different international players. There are a lot of them.

As a Chinese, except Yao,I like Rudy Fernandes from Portland. He's a cool guy, with a hand of dunk and three points. In all-stars in Phoenix,he should have been the champion of dunk contest~~~~~

I'm glad so many like Yao Ming but I'm tickled that you actually mentioned someone else as well. There are quite a number of Spanish stars in the league. Rudy Fernandez is a good one. Jose Calderon from the Toronto Raptors is another and is very popular here north of the border.

I am a Celics fan but I love, love Yao Ming!! I would love to have him on the Celtics (I know it's not gonna happen but one can dream lol)! Besides being a great basketball player he's also a great human being and a very classy guy. If it wasn't for his injury I believe he would be the top center in the NBA this coming season. I feel really bad for him as he hasn't had much luck with injuries, but hopefully he takes this season off recovers from this injury and comes back stronger than ever.

The only negative I would give him as a player is a lack of durability. Not something he can do anything about really. Otherwise he is a great player in every sense of the word. Hope he makes a full recovery.

This is a very tough question since there are so many great international players in the NBA. I would say Pao Gasol as an International player had the greatest impact on his team last year. Kobe could not have won that title without him, so I would say Pau Gosol. But there are a lot of picks that you can not go wrong with. It truly is a global game now.

Pau Gasol is a great player. It is nice to not just see international players in the league but be stars in their own right. Pau has had a great impact on the Lakers since the day he arrived.

My favorite is Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets. Though he's not the first Asian to play in the NBA, he has been an inspiration to all his countrymen and all Asian basketball players. They want to be an player too just like Yao Ming. I would not be surprised if there will be a lot of Asian players in the NBA 5-10 years from now.

I'm surprised there are not more Asian players already. Give it time. I think you're right though 5-10 years and there will definitely be more.

Yao Ming. What he has done for the Rockets and for China's Olympic team is incredible, and I hate to see him have to sit out a season with that hairline fracture on his foot.

Yao Ming is easily one of the most recognizable international stars in the league. I also think he does an admirable job of representing his country to the rest of the world. I am sad that he has been sidelined by a very frustrating injury. Hopefully he will make a full recovery and be able to play again. The league will miss him until he does.

Michael Jordan has become a symbol of the sport. He's American though. Do you have a non-American favorite in the league?
