I've never been classified as a certain religion and I've only been to church a couple of times. When people ask what religion I am I don't really have an answer. Is it important for people to classify themselves as a specific religion?

yes, it is as it teaches us all gud things in life whatever be the religion, all teaches us the same good character of a being. Make this world more easy and beautiful to live. religion is much to me and my life depends totally on it. Whenever I am in a situation of choosing between the two then i think with the religion's point of view .

May peace be unto you,
I think that religion is the most serious and important of the human's life. The religion give a goal to the life, its also give hope and love. Islam (submission to God) give me a real hope and hapiness in this life and inchALLAH (God willing) in the Hereafter.

hi there, tinah06..
welcome to myLot! thanks for posting that very nice question.
if i may share with you, i have a t-shirt which says, "NO RELIGION; JUST A RELATIONSHIP" and i wear it with dignity.
personally, i've learned that religion plays an important role in giving a person a sort of direction in life. BUT, religion shouldn't be the be-all and end-all of a person's existence.
actually, what God wants from us is not religion that is based on tradition or rituals. what God wants from us is a RELATIONSHIP. He wants us to communicate with him in a very personal way, and that is by FAITH. Have you heard of JESUS? I'd like to tell you something about Him, if you'd like. :)
happy myLotting!
