I ended up going to a Historical & garden museum with my mother-in-law today. There was a American history museum, couple nice gardens, old cars museum in it. It was pretty good, I like the type of museum that you can see more things besides still pictures or figures in a box just like the one we have been today.
We could touch the herbs and smell them, sit on the old cars and pretend the driver :-p, we went for the "fake horse ride"(I forget what it is in English) etc, it was a pretty good trip :-)
What about you? Do you like going to the museum? What types of museum do you like or you just find it absolute boring?
I attached a picture of one of the nice flowers that I took today, hopefully it shows...

I have never been on a museum. I would love to visit one someday though. We dont have them here and Id have to travel many hours just to get to one and browse the pieces of history displayed there.
Glad to know you had a nice time on your trip. I do know what you mean. Its also nice to be able to be interactive with the things on display rather than just reading trivia about it and just looking.

Someone has probably already told you this, but I think the word that you were looking for was probably a carousel. I haven't rode one of these in years. Sometimes I wished I had kids just so I could do stuff like this. Of course, if I really wanted to, I am sure my guy would ride it with me just for fun.
I love going to museums. I have never been to one where they let you set on the old cars and stuff. I bet that was pretty neat. Usually, they are roped off, but you can get a good look at them. I went to an automobile museum in Las Vegas where every vehicle in the museum was for sale. I thought that was pretty unique. I love old cars.
But I also enjoy going to science museums and botanical gardens as well. Sounds like the one you went to was a combination. Excellent. Glad you enjoyed it!

i love history so i really like to go to museums and even antique stores just to see objects that have been around for many years. it is interesting to see what people have touched and used and even made over the years and how people did things such as laundry (a wash board) back then.

There is a museum in my city which has ancient artifacts. Ancient artifacts is the prime attraction. Apart from that there is a section for stuffed birds and animals. I likeed the museum so much that I have visited it more than 3 times and still would love to visit it again.

hi mermaid I do really enjoy going to museums. We had
one back home that had rooms for different periods
in history where they would show the furniture and'
furnishings common to that particular era, and would
show a couple of mannikins dressed in the clothes
of that time period. also in this museum in Deadwood South
Dakota were huge old locomotives, steam of course. There are
also museums of art and I love to browse those too. oh in the deadwood museum there is the graveyard of old stagecoaches too.

yes i like going to museums especially the ones hat show a lot of history. i feel that im part of that era in time. but like the museum you went to, a museum would really be interesting if the objects being shown are interactive(like you can touch them ). i love the air and space museum here.

Like? hhhmmmm! I guess not that much. I haven't visited a museum for a hundred years. The last visit I had was when I was 13 years old. I don't even know where are the museums near our place. Actually for staying here for two years now, I haven't visited a museum yet.
The last visit I experience in a museum was in the Navy museum. Were we get to see historical facts about different ships and planes. And then we get to see old navy weapons, uniforms and medals being displayed there with their heroes of course during the World War 1 and World War 2.
It is kinda creepy since the museum is kinda dark and smells really old. Anyway, that was my experience. It has been so long. I might enjoy visiting amusement parks rather than museums . Happy Mylotting.

Love it! I prefer going to museums and art galleries than going to the mall (which is the preference here in my country). In my hometown, we have a shoe museum (it was originally a town of shoemakers), a doll museum, a miniature museum, a belen (manger scene) museum, a Science museum, etc. I'd much rather bring my daughter to these places than the mall. :) When I was studying in Spain, I spent a great deal of time in museums because you could spend the entire day there and the price was right (esp on Sundays), lol.

I've visited many museums in my own country too. Last month i went down to the fancy museum in the provincial capital on Saturday. We went to see the cultures from the British. The curator were very nice, very erudite English lectures, and they spoke in that way only witty people can, but it was a little on the dry side. And everything was lit so wonderfuly, things seemed to glow. Only one item was a reproduction, which made everything else all the more magical. But I couldn't take any photographs, sadly. Visiting to museum very intersting but a tip for you guys out there; If you would like to break up with your girlfriend, it might be a very good idea to take her to the most boring and musty museum in your town..LOL..
