Fluoride & Brain Damage

I was on YouTube listening to a Coast to Coast episode where they were discussing how fluoride damages the brain. I know that fluoride is toxic and you can die if you eat your toothpaste. But is there any truth to this conspiracy theory? Are they just trying to scare us and make us paranoid? What are your thoughts on this???
