How do you research grants?

I would like to try my hand at writing some grants, but I don't know where to start. Where does one look to find out about grant opportunities. I'm wanting to write some for our local school, and also for a friend who is starting a new business.

i suggest you do your homework by looking at the internet as well as hitting the library. there is a great book called research grants for dummies (from the dummies series) i recommend you get your hands on a copy. that should help.

thanks, I'll go get the book now. Do you recommend any websites to start with. Its seems there are many websites out there intended to scam you out of your money.

I can't seem to find the book. I see Grant Writing for Dummies, but no "Research Grants." I'll keep searching.
