YOUR FAVORITE 80's CARTOON OR FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD?

I grew up in the 1980's and I had a lot of favorite cartoons, like Teen Wolf, Galaxy High, Gem, and I did love Pee Wee's Playhouse although it wasn't technically a cartoon, but it was a kid show...what was your favorite growing up? And what do you think of the crappy cartoons we have today?

I used to love Saturday mornings when I was little, when they played all the kid's shows till noontime. Some of my faves were the Smurfs, and I loved Gummy Bears and Garfield and Friends. I watched Pee Wee, and I also liked the show Beakman's World, which was the science show that was on after all the cartoons on Saturday mornings. Technically that one wasn't a cartoon, either, but I still remember watching it every week. And I loved Gem! I had the barbie doll that they came out with when the show was on, I might actually even still have her in storage someplace at my mom's house!
What about Fraggle Rock? I know that was muppets rather than cartoons, but it was still a kid's show and one that I was personally crazy about. I never missed it and used to drive my dad bananas singing the theme song around the house.
I don't think the cartoons today are as good as the ones I had growing up. I've bought my old cartoons on DVD so my kid can watch them, just because they are so much better! I do like SpongeBob, but that's pretty much it for the newer cartoons.

Yeah, cartoons lately have just really been bugging me I'm trying to get all the cartoons i loved on dvd too, so i can share them with my kids, when I have any. I recently ordered Daria from this one site called planet dvd or something, since Daria hasn't actually been released by MTV, but I loved that show, even though i watched that when I was a good deal older. I loved gummy bears, Beakman's World sounds vaguely familiar, but I'm not sure if I watched it.

OMG, that's great, I hope you do get Daria and please let me know if it works cause I would LOVE to get it for my sister. We used to watch Daria all the time when we were in high school, and we still talk to each other using the voice of Quinn's Asian friend - I forget her name. It's been soooooooo long since I've seen it since MTV doesn't see fit to run it anymore. Please. I'd rather watch Daria than some of the stuff they play now.

I don't know if you get the channel Nogin, but I know they used to run the episodes on there, they might not anymore tho, I'm not sure, but I'll definitely let you know if their good quality when I get them in.

Hmm, we're about the same age but all I remember of the shows you mentioned is Pee Wee's Playhouse. My favorite absolute cartoons were Inspector Gadget and Scooby Doo Where Are You (those were reruns from the 60s, though I don't think I knew that at the time!). I've also got fond memories of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe...I was particularly fascinated with the tiger on that show. I can still watch the old Scooby Doo shows and enjoy them! I also remember watching whatever came on on Saturday mornings even though I remember thinking even then that these shows weren't that good. It was a tradition though...Saturday morning meant cartoons, and I'd better watch them!

hi.i am real time cartoon buff...i am mad about cartoon and love to see it.....still now having so grew up i watch cartoon...my favorite cartoon is TOM JEERY.....POPEYE SHOW....GOOF TROOP....ETC ETC ETC...personally its so relaxing that i love to see it..........
