Did you landed to what you dreamed of to become? Are you willing what parents wants you to pursue?
Some parents push their sons or daughters to take up degree course against to what they wanted to pursue in studies. Sampling a lawyer who wants somebody to follow his footprints. Likewise for others who didn't finished studies, they wanted their kids to finish what they started. Some do idolized their parents and became what they are expected to them. But for others, they ended up frustrated and gone worse in their studies. To some fulfilled their parents' dreams and landed to their respective degree but little shown compassion to what they do.
Some felt to formulate what is right for them and ended enrolling the wrong course. Others fail to continue because of financial incapacity.
What happened to me was, I dreamed of becoming a Police Officer or a Military. To serve my country is what I felt necessary. So I took up BS Criminology, 1st year college. At first semester I did great heaving fun meeting new friends. I even joined the Reserved Officers Training Corps., aspiring to become an Officer. Passed the initiations and was given the rank of 2nd Lt. Second semester came, my allowance was shortened and usually delayed. Make the story short, because of financial concern, I stopped! But after a year with my own financial capacity, I shifted course and graduated with flying colors of Information Technology.
Even today, I sometimes asked myself what If I did become a Law Enforcer? It still within me and frustrations felt whenever I see Men in Uniform specially in formations and marches. Still give me Goosebumps.
How about you?

I wanted to become a barrister when I was 8 years old and then in college I wanted to do something very creative like abstract art which is still my favorite, however when I finished college to join a university my dad wanted me to become a lawyer and my mom was against this art subject so I had to study law and today I am a student of LLB at the university of London in my second year, I am okay but I still do my paintings from time to time and this year or next year in january I am doing the exhibition of my paintings also.

Helo med889!
Congratulations on your upcoming exhibit! Do you have any regrets in fulfilling your parents request? Maybe they saw in you a potential that you can be good lawyer that's why they insisted. You are blessed though, because you can do things in one time. Having to do what you really want as well as abiding to your parents request is really hard for someone especially those financially incapable of.
Good luck to your studies!

Hi mjnayak86!
Most of us do finish education but indeed very difficult to land a job. This is also true in my country. Sometimes the demand of positions specifically into your degree is very minimal. Other recourse that my countrymen do is to look for other employment not related to their education just to earn.
