Twilight - Edward or Jacob?

My friend asked me this when I started to read the book. Do I favor Edward or Jacob in the Twilight Saga? I did not like Jacob initially. However, the trailer to New Moon is convincing me that Jacob can be an attraction to the Twilight lovers. And Robert Pattinson is not doing a good job in promoting himself.
So, Edward or Jacob?

i think new moon is letting jacod shine, so robert done his promoting on the first book and now it is jacobs time to do his promoting skills. he is very much visible in new moon and the story is letting bela know that he is not as normal as she expect him to be. i am not a fan of robert nor taylor but i think they are not over powering each other and they are casted in the film very well.

Id have to agree, i dont think i could choose between them, edward is the vegatarian vampire that is only there to protect bella and he loves bella and would never hurt her, yet the only reason she is always getting hurt is because of him. and Jacob is the wolf who at any moment could take a bite out of her and he is a new wolf to so he cant controll his temper as edward can. Both boys love bella very much and each play an important roll, i would think jacob was the better person in new moon because he didnt leave bella as edward just up and left her but he was always with her.

I have always favored Edward because he shows so much chivalry. He opens the door for Bella, protects her, wrote a lullaby for her, sings her to sleep, watches her sleep, takes her to dinner, etc. The list can go on and on! However, I am getting into Jacob. Taylor Lautner is doing a great job portraying him (from what I can see in the trailers) and is looking great! But, if I had to pick from either one, I am definitely on Team Edward!
