do you work to live or live to work?

Which is which? And which is the right thing to do? In my point of view it is right to work to live but these days it is like most people live to work. For example, the people I worked with in my previous job work 24/7. They already live in our office. They just logged out when they are going to eat or sleep or rest for 15 minutes (to be exact). They spend the rest of their time working. Yes, I know we are currently having a worldwide financial difficulties and it is really hard to earn money these days but we should keep in mind that there is still life outside the office.

i like my job but not that much, plus, i only work there part time. i do really like the people i work with but there is so much more to me than my job. i am a writer and an artist and have sold both, so for me, work is not that important.
