Recently i saw cockroaches in my kitchen cabinets. I was alarmed. I detest these pests. Can somebody tell me some remedies to get rid of them. I have a toddler at home so cannot use chemicals. Give me some ideas.

It is really difficult to tackle with cockroaches. We used to have cocroaches at my parents' house and they manged to get into closets and used to destroy clothes. A small tablet kind of white medicine is available in market. It is like a candy for cocroaches; they will have that and will be no more.

The best way is to clean the kitchen regularly. This way you can ensure that there is no bug or cocroch egg hiding in your kitchen shelves. Try to get rid of the moisture content in your kitchen and also place a anti-cockroach tablet (try mortien) next to the drainage.
If the infest is out of your control, please call in the pest-control team and get rid of the bugs as soon as possible.

Roaches are in there for only one reasonTO EAT! Stay on top of cleaning food up.Watch that trash as well. If you still can't get rid of them by winter, let your house get really cold for several days. Roaches are smart. They will go to your neighbor's house where it's warm with plenty of leftovers! Keep drains covered. There are millions of roaches in the sewer system. Some can be large enough to swim the trap in your drain. Kinda scary isn't it???

U must probably take the kid out for an outing. Call in the pest control experts. They will take care of them.
And later, after this is done , it is necessary that you are hygenic and keep home clean.
I don't think you'll have any problems after that. Also make sure , the holes in the sink and other outlets for water to drain are closed as most pests find their way into the house through these means.

So far I have been using sprays only to prevent these nasty cockroach from attacking any place in my house. I think you can try neem leaves, a bunch of it or some leaves can be kept in all the shelves of the cabinet, I hope this works and helps you out to get rid of cockroaches.

I also face the same problem and I actually kill them...I have a bunch of tissue papers mostly used for killing cockroaches than to absorb oil from fry foods...I think you need to take out everything from the cabinets...use baygon spray and leave it for say half a day....then all cockroaches die and arrange things back again...I know this is a tedious job and you have a toddler at home...but this is the only method that keeps my kitchen away from cockroaches...

Use borax to clean everything. It is a common cleaning agent, it is not toxic to humans or animals but it causes chemical burns to cockroaches which eventually kill them.
