Does listening to your favorite music helps you study/work easier?

It's kinda weird but I love listening to music that I don't understand the language like Japanese, Korean, Chinese, French etc. I don't know the reason or logic yet but it really helps me relax when I'm listening to that kind of music. Maybe because they produced good music, good beats and rhythms. And when I listen to my favorite JPop music I can concentrate more on my work and produce results faster. Anyone experienced same results??

hey. When i was studying i used to listen to classical music. I found anything too dance like would make me loose my concentration. I also love korean music, spending a year there made me appreciate the traditional korean instruments. Whilst on mylot I listen to all sorts of music!!

I really really really love JPop too. I dun understand the whole things they sang, but the melody does effect me.And yes, even without knowing the meaning, it help me to do work more effectively.

I listen to music when I do everything! It helps me block out everyone or everything around me and just work (or do whatever I'm doing). I find it helps me focus to have music on, despite others telling me it does the opposite haha.
When I do school work, when I'm working out at the gym.. etc, I always have music on to help me stay focused on what I'm doing!
