Let me introduce you to my new American Bulldog

We decided to try again with becoming dog owners except this time an already trained and older but still full of energy so we found an ad in the buy and sell. The ad said free to a good home. We were quite surprised because usually those ads that I've been seeking were nothing but scams but I decided to call the number anyway. I was the first caller and I couldn't believe these people were giving away an American Bulldog for free. Their story was that they had an infant who was starting to stand up on his own and this dog was too big and that because of his size, he would accidently knock over the child as this dog loves children so they wanted to find a good home for him.
The next day we took a ride to go look at the dog and fell in love with him at first site. He greeted us by wagging his tail and started kissing my son with licks like crazy. His previous owners showed us some tricks and things that the dog already knew. We ended up bringing him home and we were and still are so very impressed with him. The old owners also gave us a Ceaser Mulan book for us to read.. but we don't see any reason to read it because he's so well mannered.
When we walk him everyone stares at us and takes pictures of him or just wants to know what kind of dog he is. He's pretty much a celebrity in this town! He seems to bring the best out of all walks of life, children, adults and even other dogs.
Do you have a dog that gives you the feelings of happiness?

I have three dogs: A Great Dane/German Shepherd mix, a Rottweiler/Australian mix, and a purebred Miniature Alaskan Spitz. All three of them were adopted or rescued by me, and surprisingly enough, my purebred dog was also given away freely to me. All three of my dogs make me smile and are special to me in some way, and I love all three of them dearly.
When I take the Spitz out in public, people can't help but "ohh" and "ahh" over her! She is adorable. Small, but not too small, pure white with big brown eyes - she looks kind of like an Arctic Fox, and she loves everyone! She never barks or growls, and she just wants to be friends with everyone she meets. She's also a celebrity everywhere she goes.
The Great Dane mix is one of the most intelligent, loving dogs I have ever met in my entire life. She suffers from that being too big problem, like your dog, but she's the sweetest thing! She sleeps in my bed, ha, with me every night, and she is so smart. There's nothing I can't train her to do, and nothing that I haven't attempted to train her that she didn't pick up in just a day or two. In fact, it only took a week to house train her.
And the Rottweiler mix - well, she's special, to say the least. She doesn't seem to have manners, but this is just because she wants to be everyone's friend. She loves to cuddle and play, and she has a habit of sporadicately bursting into what we call 'dancing'.
All three of my dogs are my 'babies'. But then again, doesn't every pet owner feel that way?

Oh for sure we do . Our Lennox loves puzzles and games. We play a game with his food with him. We will line up about four kibbles in a row and he will wait until you point to which one you want him to take. He's pretty smart.
Your dogs sound really sweet raineyes and I'm sure they are the perfect company too.
Thanks for your comment
