Latest: Do you return the favor of following someone who follows you, thus extending your network even further? less than 5 seconds ago
That was my most recent Tweet... (Is that what people call it???)
So, do you return the favor and follow ALL (or at least most) people who have begun to follow you?

I have a few twitter accounts, only on one of them do I follow back. Most of the other accounts are for my particular interests and I don't want my tweet stream to be affected by unrelated topics.

Oh so you use different accounts perhaps for different topics? One for promoting one website, one for promoting another site, one maybe for recipes, one for family, for example??

Yes, that's what I do - one for stocks, one for sports, one for marketing, one for domaining, one for my own stuff, etc.

Yes, but I check them out first. Like if I get a notification or notice my number of followers have changed....I check out the new person's profile and their last few tweets on he/she's homepage. If they seem like folks I want to be involved with I will follow them back.
For example, I had a person or two follow me who were promoting s**ually explict type things, so I didn't follow them back.

Oh I see... yes that's a great tip. Thanks for the info. What's your name on there so I can check you out and perhaps follow you?

i do until i get to know them.. i mean some people i return the favor and add end up just being spammers or just constantly tweeting on stuff i just cant get into and the amount keeps me from seeing the people i do want to read.. so i add then give them awhile to get a feel of them then decide later if i want to keep them or not

That's what I have been doing so far. I only have 8 followers, but I have only been a member for 2-3 days now.

Hello my friend Bethany1202 Ji,
Well, to be frank, I never follow as I run short of time as wella s patience. I am not
able to justify myself. Hope you will excuse me.
May God bless You and have a great time.

I dont follow everyone as unwanted tweets would spoil the mood in reading the rest. There is generally a lot of tweets to read that I would only follow people that give out good info. I generally find this limited list of following gives worthwhile and useful info. I read all tweets. But, I am under no obligation to follow bk.

I have my twitter set up so that I automatically follow anyone who follows me. But I do check to see if they are suitable to follow. I have also had people follow me who want to post sexually explicit things on there- they get deleted straight away

No i don't follow everyone who follows me. My twitter stream would get extremely "noisy" if i do that. Do i seem rude? I only follow those who interest me. Besides i wouldn't be able to follow and read individual tweet if i follow back everyone. But i might change the way i tweet. I just might follow everyone back.

This seems to be a good decision since you are trying to show gratitude or respect to someone for following you. But i suggest you check them out first to see what kind of posts they make and if it is something that would interest you. For those who are using twitter as a promotional launching pad for your online business ventures, following people just for the sake of it is not advisable since you are not producing targeted traffic to your site. But the basic rule is, follow someone you want NOT because they followed you first.
