Life is what you make of it. The experiences we have had, both negative and positive, has a major affect upon how we view life in general. Some people view life in a more positive way. They are known as optimists. Then there are others who generally view life in a negative way. They are the Pessimists. Which one are you?

Neither. I am a realist. Positive thinking doesn't pay the bills. And if you don't have some thoughts of progress, you won't get anywhere. But when your positive thinking falls flat and you have to start over....where'd positive thinking get you... but working over time! But if you don't pay attention to what you are doing, you won't get a start in the first place with the option to suceed.
I have a saying... "I hope for the best and plan for the worst" and just do the best I can with what I got. That way, if the good thing happens, I can sure enjoy it for the thrill and excietment it is... however if the worst happens, then I have prepared myself and can hit the dirt fighting to come back instead of wondering "why didn't my positive thinking work?"

Thanks for BR..
I agree with you... positive thinking never got anyone anywhere. It is what you do with what you know and have...that gets you where you want to be... hopefully!

Positive thinking won't get you anywhere. What good is faith without exercising it. I can think positive all day long, and still nothing will happen. But if I plant seeds for success or prepare myself for the harvest, whether it be only a little or maybe a whole lot, I can make the most of what I got. What you do not use, you will surely lose. Thank you for your outstanding response.

I am neither. I take life in a logical way. there's that age old question to determine if you are optimist or pessimist:
a glass is 50% filled with water. do you see the glass as half-full or half-empty?
half-full means optimist, and half-empty means pessimist. I am neither because
I see the glass as being too big.

I hate that analogy!!! Nothing like limiting yourself with stupidity!!!
I look at a glass half full/empty in an intelligent, realistic manner....
I see it as "it's all I got, now what am I going to do with it?"

Thank you for your response. You have recognized life outside of the box. As a matter of fact, there is no box. Just because I ask you if you are an optimist or a pessimist doesn't necessarily mean you had to choose between the two answers I had given you. Thanks again for your realistic insight!!!!

I always try to remain optimist. It is hard when bad things happen to you, but you have to try and use the bad experiences in a good way. Learn from your mistakes, that is the good that comes out of it. You prevent it from happening again! Being negative about things doesnt help. They are in the past, nothing is ever going to change that! So whats the point in wallowing in self pitty?! Doesnt do anyone any good, and people will soon get fed up with you!

I've always been an optimist..........
things do get tough i know...
but i can always manage to get by......and still afford to smile..
i guess it's becasue I've been through soooooooooo much....
nothing can shake me anymore....
I can keep my calm on situations people would panic....
Problems? i know they keep on coming..... I will always find a solution...
