hello fellow mylotters! i have been a member of mylot for a month now. at the start it was really exciting for me. i enjoyed joining in discussions and sharing my opinion. in fact, i even reached payout in just under 20 days. for me, it was the fun that really hooked me to mylot.
however, nowadays i felt some boredom and redundancy from it. it seems that there's nothing really much that motivates you to do the same thing here every day but the money. i don't know how those who have been here for a long time kept themselves from being bored. i guess i'm just a person who easily gets bored of things. i'm not really proud of it but that's just me.
so i would like to ask advice from you guys. or better yet share your experiences on how you overcame the odds. please share what motivates you here in mylot and how you prepare yourself to do the same thing every single day. do you even feel that way? or you just love mylot a lot and you can't have a day without it. if that's the case, what's your secret? please share and let's have a rich discussion today.

i never get bored here. i had my old account for i think almost 5 months and now this one for 3 weeks. i can always find a few friends to hang around with or get out of my comfort zone and meet some people (like now). some days it's real slow here but that really only lasts a few hours.
i don't really know what advice to give you except maybe expand your interests or just go around and respond to discussions you wouldn't normally respond to that would be a good way to meet some new people.

you shared some pretty good points there both of you. thank you! yes i guess i should start looking up for those topics that really interests me. i think it would be more fun to do that. what i usually do is scan my friends topics first and respond to it. then i look for those hot topics but sometimes i don't really reply to it because i enjoy the topic. i just reply because i set daily goals on how many topics i should reply too. i've realized that having quality topics too is better than the quantity of those topics. right now my goal would be to make my topics to be more interactive by commenting to responses. sorry if it took me longer to reply to your responses though. i guess i just needed some time off.

Every website gets boring after sometime. You can try out different websites. After awhile you'll be bored with those and you'll wander back to Mylot. :) Net surfing is fun and since you already have 10 bucks, you don't have to worry about your account becoming inactive. Good luck

I do agree with what animegirl says. It happened with me when I first joined mylot and my discussions were not receiving good responses. I even started a discussion regarding this , but again got not many responses.I began staying away from the site for sometime, but decided to try it out again. Once I began taking an interest in the discussions started by other members and posting more my topics too began to get more responses and the interaction was really good . I think we need to have some patience in the beginning until you get established and known. It also helps to make good well thought out posts instead of simply adding 1-2 liners with no substance- All the best and happy mylotting

hi anime girl and kiran! sorry it took me longer to reply to your responses. anyway, you were right. every website indeed becomes boring no matter how entertaining that website is. the reason why i became silent here in mylot for a few days because i wanted to see if i'll miss it. it was some sort of experiment. then i realized that i'm not really for the money but for the people and the enjoyment i get from sharing my opinion. of course it gets redundant in a while but then again i realized that when you're off from mylot for a few days, you will indeed miss it.

Hmmmm 385 posts and your already bored...I can only come to one conclusion- you are not utilizing all mylots tools to your advantage. Someone before me mentioned the search box- If you use it to your advantage, meaning search for your topics of interest- you may come across different discussions on your same topic of interest. Also- when responding to a discussion- don't just respond to the discussion itself, but to the participants in the discussion- comment on their comments- and you will find many friends with the same interests as you- therefore more discussions to respond to. Also- have you tried to tasks- I personally have and am not a fan- but hey- you might like them. When someone responds to your discussions, do you make it a habit to answer all that participated?? If not, you should start doing that as well. If you haven't enjoyed the blogging section of mylot, you should try it- that is a place where you can spend a lot of time learning and commenting on blogs. If it is the discussions that are boring you- believe me I have come across this problem myself time and time again- but I just begin new interesting discussions and ignore the others. When I did get bored of the discussions and everything else- I just took a small few month break from it- then came back refreshed and ready to have great meaningful converstations ;)
My motivation here on mylot at first was to make money- but slowly but surely my motivation is only about learning new and interesting things from my friends around the world and also making new friends around the world. If mylot stopped paying tomorrow- I would still be an active memeber.

Hi,
It is nice to know someone like you at myLot.
Thanks for giving me ideas on how to overcome
boredom here at myLot. I have not reach that
stage yet...but I can use your information
to avoid being bored! Great ideas...love it!
Maybe if I have the time, I will be checking other
myLotters' blogs too. I am a blogger from Malaysia,
so I just put my blog at my profile...is that correct?
Btw, do we earn by commenting on other myLotters's blogs..
just curious...lol
Do keep in touch and hope to hear some views from you at
my topic of discussions..happy myLotting!

There are many days that, I too, find it boring. But then there are other days mylot holds my interest. Each day is different. Some days I will just respond to many discussions. Then there will be days, that I don't respond to any at all. For me it is just depends on the discussions that are around.
If I find that I am becoming bored with the site, I just go and do something else for an hour or two hours and then see what has happened. Some times that works for me.

that's a cool idea! i might just do that. i was thinking that maybe one of the reasons why i got bored with mylot is that i spend too much time on it. it is indeed true that here in mylot there could be good days and bad days. i guess that happens with everything we do in life. thank you for your reply. happy mylotting!

I know many websites which have forums and other stuff, what got me here is the Economy. You even get earnings and other people comment you. I feel good if People try to help you and talk to you nicely. You should stay here and look around every week. I don't think you can ever get bored talking to other people, in fact you even can share your life here. You tell other people what you like and you want. :) anybody who thinks this is boring is not real human xD ^^

Wow, reaching payout for 20 days? Your responses must be that good. Impressive. Keep it up. Actually, when i feel bored with mylot, i log out then check my account the next day. I have been really upset because i haven't reached my payout even though i was active. I'm a month old too but my efforts are not enough. If my account reached payout as fast as yours, then i think it will be a great motivator for me.
