status relationship with boy or girlfriend

I guess they didn't make official relationship with each other, that means they didn't make their relation public. I think lt's the most difficult thing in the world to define a relationship between boys and girls, maybe you'll have different feelings towards more than one just one person, but there's only one you want to be his or hers lover.In fact many lovers can't make their relation public, but love really exist between them, that is the true reason why love make many people feel high or lows. I don't know whether I figure out the true meaning of this question,but now here I just want to express my ideas.
