friend that might be due to some virus or something or the best option is to reinstall it as this always helps. Firefox has also released a updated version that is 3.5 download this and install it this works great. Crashing might be because you open a lot of browsers at 1 time.

That version of firefox really has some issues, it frequently close my internet session and prompt me to allow anonymous bug report. Its a good thing though that the session is restored on restart. It is highly advisable to update to the latest version to overcome these shortcomings, the latest is 3.5.2 and I never have yet encountered those problem so far and it start/load and exit faster.

Upgrading to 3.5.2 is recommended but most of the problems could be in the profile. You wouldn't solve them reinstalling FF because the profile folder is not overwritten reinstalling it. Even if you will upgrade to the next version it could keep your old profile with all the problems maybe caused to some broken file.
So, if you want to create a new profile you can find the instructions here:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing profiles
Make sure to backup everything you need because you will start from scratch with a new profile, so you won't find your bookmarks, extensions, passwords and so on.
You can make a backup of everything you need with FEBE extension but you better reinstall extensions from Mozilla site to avoid reinstalling corrupted ones ;)

A suggestion on updating as been made, so I would like t touch on something else.
Should Firefox crashes again,
Check your add-ons. This is especially true if Firefox has been updated, or you have installed a new add-on.
Check the number of open tabs and/or windows. This is the main reason for the crashes that I had experienced so far.
Use other software to check for malware. Certain malware can fool antivirus programs, appearing to be harmless to them.
