i am new to mylot and there are still many things that i have to learn. one aspect is that of 'friends' and already i have received three requests. i am not able to decide for myself so i seek your help. being specific to mylot what do you consider before sending a friend request, accepting or denying a friend ? a few observations have left me undecided. i have seen some discussions in which a particular set of information was available only through pm. no offense but i consider this as a gimmick to increase 'friend count' does it matter or make a difference to your membership? at some point of time we might have or may respond to discussions not initiated by friends. so being members of mylot aren't we all friends? (just a viewpoint). please share your views to help me form my own views in this regard. thanks !

Hello sunny.
The number of friends you have here have no direct effects on your earnings.
As you should knows, you earning are related on the number and the quality of your posts, and on some other things like putting an image in your posts. But, for your earnings, is also important the number of responses your discussions get.
And, obviously, the more friends you have, the more responses you "should" get in your discussions. This is not always true, due "friends" seems really lazy sometimes, but in the average is a good rule. More friends means more responses.
So having more friends should help your earnings in mylot.
Another advantage of having more firends is you will easily find interesting discussions to respond. I usually try to answer discussions of my friends when I find them interesting;)
Happy myLotting.

mylot friends'll make finding interesting discussions easier, and it's nice to have a few that you have things in common with - makes the mylot more sociable. i'd accept/request those you like, whose posts you find interesting and/or you've got things in common with
