Been using that for the last few years... It's convenient and free. Works by installing as a virtual printer which you print to from any application to produce a PDF. The encryption is standard PDF encryption using RC4 40-bit or RC4 128-bit which is a weak encryption algorithm, but nonetheless convenient. AES in later revisions of PDF is better. The best part is the scripting capabilities that allows you to work on the PDF in your own applications or to parse the data through another app.
