How can we Public help the Police in reducing crime???

Because of Huge Floating Population, Cities are getting more and more unsafe. Police too are helpless as these criminals come from hinterland and neighboring states and tracking them is next to impossible.
Putting up more CCTVs in Railway Station, Bus Stand and other Public places could be one solution.
Neighborhood Community Watch Committees too could also help.
Is there any other way we as public can help the Police in reducing the Crimes?????

If you happen to see any criminal activities, inform the police. Keep a close watch on the suspicious people and their activities and report to the cops. Form a chain of moral police with your likeminded friends and look out for trouble. Be an unknown police informer. Don't let others know that you are a police informer or else you will be in trouble. Ask your local body to fix cctvs at important locations. There are such so many ways to help reduce the crime in your area atleast.

yes meapas, community policing is a very effective tool to prevent crime in your city. The Police should concentrate more on this cost effective tool
