How can I make money online in South Africa?

I have tried many different ways to make money online from Odesk, rentafreelancer, paid to click adverts, mechanical turk, global test market but to name a few. So far in four months Ive made about $80 with so many hours put in I have lost count. I have a day job but I have recently gotten married and need some extra income. I don't have extra money to spend. So I cant buy and resell items on ebay for example.
I am a graphic designer by trade and I know there are a lot of freelancer sites available but there are so many other people going for the same jobs that its virtually impossible to get the jobs. The jobs I do get I work for sometimes over 10 hours and get $8. I don't mind working hard and long hours even if the pay is low I need consistent income.
I know there are sites that pay for taking surveys and I have joined most of them but I never seem to get more than 4 surveys a month and Ive joined over 18 of those sites.
I've tried blogging and making a website but that also takes far too much time in order for it to become profitable.
I just would like to make between $100 and $300 a month. If there is more than that to be made I'll do it.
Anyone have any suggestions?
