I will confront the manager in a professional way, ask if they have a proper preparation of their food. If he could give a satisfactory and honest answer maybe i will ask for a refund or ask another soup. I believe that some things accidentally happened.

I guess that's the way to go. But me, I'll be outraged. Specially if I already have eaten some of the contaminated soup. The chef should have checked the food first before serving to the customers. If it was a fly, an ant or a hair, maybe I'd still be calm and talk to management in a professional way. I just can't take seeing a yucky cockroach swimming in my food. LOL

Well traditionally english people are incredibly polite but do ike to moan! It is a running joke that us Brits would write a letter of complaint. However, I would complain on the spot. I would ask to see the manager and query the process of food prep. I would want a full refund. I would not eat the rest of the food ordered and go eat somewhere else.

LOL Moan eh? What do you mean by that? LOL. A full refund is quite appropriate. What if they retaliated and said, "The roach wasn't there earlier madame, did you put it there?" Most restaurants do this.

I would demand a refund, while trying to draw as much attention to the soup as possible, as to let other diners know what's really going on in that restaurant.

Yeah, I'd give the restaurant some commotion for the roach just to let others know too.
