I'm taking my kids to the zoo today. They are allowing our county residents free admission today. So, we're off to see the Lions, tigers and BEARS, OH MY!!! LoL. Do you have a zoo where you live? Does it cost to visit it or is it free? My wife who is from the windy city, said the zoos there were FREE of charge. year round. I find it ironic that the it's only FREE here once a weekend every year.

Not only do we have a zoo, we also have the San Diego Wild Animal Park where you can take photo tours in the back of an open truck and see animals living on hundreds of acres as they would in the wild. They have 2 Northern White Rhinos at the park...there are only 8 left in the entire world. You can even feed giraffes from the back of the truck. Be mindful of the ostriches though, they like to grab purses off the floor. The downside to the animal park is that it's definitely expensive, although they do special reduced price or free days occasionally. To me, though, it's worth the extra cost to see the animals living in such an amazing habitat.

Hi! I have a zoo in my home city. For a students it costs about $4 per person to get there, but I think it's worth, because there is too much animals who want to eat and have better aviaries and cages. Every year there are different changes, like building new house for tropical animals and so on, so I think it's normal to pay for the admission. I go to our zoo at least twice a year and love it. Have a nice time at the zoo!

It has been so long since I've been to the zoo that I'm not sure how much it costs. I think there is one day a week that kids under 12 get in free. The closest one to me is about 40 minutes away. I mean there is a petting zoo nearby, but as for a real honest to goodness zoo, I'd have to drive about 40 minutes to get there. I don't think I've been since I was fourteen.

I also like to visit zoo. I have a plan to visit London Zoo, but my husband said it’s too crowded in summer, so we will go London Zoo in September. I’m jealous with you. At least you can have one chance to enter the Zoo free. The entrance fee to London Zoo is very expensive. I don’t know what I can see there. I just hear the London Zoo has gorilla that’s the main motivation of me to visit the Zoo. I visited Beijing Zoo many times. It’s really impressive trips. Beijing Zoo is one of the most popular tourist sites in Beijing. It was built in 1908 and was the first zoo to be opened to the general public in China. It is located in the Xicheng district of Beijing city, which is now one of prosperous business areas of the city. It's very easy to get there as many buses pass by the zoo. You could also try one of the two canal routes, which leave via Summer Palace. Beijing Zoo covers an area of more than 50 000 square meters, has a collection of more than 600 animal species and a population of more than 7 000 animals. There are more than 30 large halls, not only for wild and rare native animals to China, but also for many wild and rare animals from around the world. If you want to know you can see in Beijing Zoo, please visit my article called Top 5 'must see' enclosures of Beijing Zoo. http://www.bukisa.com/articles/82781_top-5-must-see-enclosures-of-beijing-zoo Happy Mylotting.

There are some nice zoos within thirty minutes to two hours driving time. Some are free, some have minimal charge, some are reciprocal with other zoos and others have no association with others and are kind of expensive. When we go to the zoo an hour away, we buy a membership for the year. It usually comes with some free passes, and is usually reciprocal with many other zoos all over the country.

Yes we have a zoo here. I think it cost about $11 to go to the zoo. There is also a couple of amusement park with whales and other sea and land animals. However I do not believe in going to the zoo because all creatures should be free. Humans would not like it if they was a cover charge to see them in a cage. What do you think.

I live in Ukraine and we don't have a zoo at the city I live in. But the one that is in the capital city is always paid. You can't get in for free but there are certain discounts for children.
