Is a life without credit cards the best way to live?

Credit cards are dangerous, and unless you are 100% positive that you can use it without abuse, and pay it off completely every single month without fail, then leave it alone. Your credit rating will still be good without one, and it really gives you a sense of accomplishment to know that something you posses is something that is actually YOURS, without a credit company still holding part of it ransom.

I guess so, because if you have a credit card you are always thinking in advance that you have something to pay in the future.

its not always the best way to live witohut credit cards. if everytime you wanted to purchase a big item like a t.v., you would have to carry a large sum of cash in your pocket. its better to keep credit cards than not to have them. carrying one is the responsibility of the holder. if you overspend, its your fault and you cant blame the credit card company. however, if you are responsible it is great because some comapanies offer cashback suchas giving you back 5% of purchases.

I agree with your statement credit cards are dangerours . If we have a crdit card we will have a tendency to use it, when it is required. If we are not able to pay the total amount on or before the due date, our credit with the the credit card company will show an increasing trend. So if we are not using it positively, it will be dangerous only

That is wise advice. I know I would have been better off never having used one. Early in my marriage I racked up quite a bit of trouble for myself. It is all cleared up now, but it took years and lots of effort and we could have put a down payment on a house for the money that was spent. Once you have credit card bills you have less pocket money so you charge more it is a vicios and dangerous circle.

yes, it's danger to have the credit card unpaid.. however nowadays carrying cash is also dangerous.. therefore, I will love to carry my debit card instead.. this will let me have the convenience of using it when I need, and need not worry on the coming bills... this also helps me to trace the money movements..

I agree. There is no real need for them. Sure they can get you out of a pinch but the debt is just ridiculous.

I learned the hard way with credit cards, and at this point in my life, I can safely say I am better off without them. I was divorced 5 years ago and had to get extra money fast to help by household things, diapers, gas, as my income was very low at the time. I took out several cards becaause I had to buy things to survive. I was able to keep up on them just fine when the balances were low-as the minimum payments were only $10 a month. (Although they say you should always pay higher than that, otherwise even a $500 credit card could turn into a 20-year debt!) I got screwed when they became maxed out,as then I owed $40 or motnh per card. I quit paying them because I got buried in debt! Now, I will pay all of them back-I have all ready paid of 4 of them over the last 4 years, but I think I still have 3 left to pay off. They got me into a lot of trouble, but really, at the time, I was desperate for extra money. They got me good!! LOL

If I don't have the cash to pay for something outright, I won't buy it.. Period. They can be quite easily lost or stolen. Should the world hit a severe state of emergency, credit will be worthless - those greedy will be bartering goods for high amounts of money, and soon after that bartering goods will be the only means to obtaining staples. I think that I prefer the cash over plastic.
