How often do you call home after you leave for office?

I call home after I reach office. In between one or two calls and then before leaving office, I call up again. What about you all? Do you keep yourself in touch with the family?

i do that when i need to call home. only our househelper is left at home during daytime.
what i do is i send a text message to my 3 children and ask them if they reach school or work safely. if not, they send me a text message informing me that they reach school or work area. they also send me a message if they are about to leave school or work. in that way, i would know that they have left for home in the interim, i need not call or text them because of the danger in answering phone in public conveyances. robberies and snatchings of cellphones here is so rampant.

I call home during lunch hours from office and it is a sort of daily routine for me to do that. I would like to be in touch with my family always and hence I do that. If I am not calling them in the afternoon during lunch, then my family would immediately call back as they become worried if I do not call them.

I wish that I could phone home but our phone minutes are very precious and small. We need to conserve them for emergencies. This means that I can't phone home before I leave and keep in touch with my family during time when I'm away from home.

I don't call home when I reach office asking about things happening in home. I live in a hostel and I don't have anybody to attend if I make calls to my hostel. Moreover, I keep my room locked when I leave hostel. I make calls to my husband everyday morning and evening, but he lives in another country as a part of his job.

My job require me to go outstation very often.
At the beginning of the month, I will be in Singapore.
Another week will be in North Malaysia, another week in the
capital city and back to South Malaysia again. I will do my
best to call my family once a day. But my wife said not necessary,
as the phone bill from outstaion is quite costly last time. Now,
it is standard telco charges from anywhere in Malaysia :)

Never, because if i am in the office then there will be nobody home
I will speak for my partner though, he will call me once a day when he arrives to work to make sure that myself and our daughter are ok, other than that he wont call unless there is a reason too as he comes home for his lunch anyway so he will see us then.

I usually call once or twice a day to my mum, to share news and to chat and maybe cheer her up, if she has a lot of work that day. Sometimes i call my sister too. Indeed I can use online messengers at work, so we are always in touch with my family members (they use those too).
But still, from time to time, it's pleasant to hear their voices and share emotions during the day at work.
