Help Me!?

Hello all,
I know this is a bold request, but maybe somebody will be willing to help me out. I just paid off a $800 credit card balance and I'm a student, so money is tight to begin with. I do work, so I make enough money to get by but I'm interested in making a bit more - pocket change, spending money if you will.
I don't really know where to start with making money online though. I'm familiar with social networking sites where you can earn money for posting, such as myLot, Yuwie, etc. And I'm familiar with other sites such as doing surveys, PTC, etc.
Further, I'm aware that referrals are one of the most important things to gain if you're going to make money online. A good network of people who dedicate their time to sites that I have referred them to will surely help me on my way.
My problem is that there are so many sites, so many scams, so much information available that I'm unsure where to start. I've been posting on myLot frequently since I joined a few days ago.. but I would like to do more to earn money online. I'm not asking for somebody to earn money for me haha but a mentor would be a great help. Somebody to help point me in the right direction of how I can start making a few extra bucks a month.

Another good site to go to (and it's free to join) is Inbox. I have been paid a few times from them. It's not a whole lot, but $30 here and there is money not planned on. You could also put yourself out there to help other students with tutoring, or perhaps shoot for some daycare providing, cleaning, errands, etc. There are always avenues available unfortunately it takes time to locate them and get them to work for you. A few months ago, I was in the same place as you were. I went through at least 100 sites that promised to pay me but barely any of them paid me. Some sites did pay me but it only paid pennies. I have found that these sites are incredible money making sites that have gotten me some decent spending money.
