Hi. I have been very stress the last few months and had a panic attack for the first time in my life. After a few days I had another one and another one and then they couldn't stop. I started feeling sad and depressed, and I didn't know when or where it would happen again. After a major panic attack, and since my psychologist couldn't help me, I decided to go to a psychiatrist. He gave me Cipralex, Rivotril, and Lamictal. Now I am feeling much much better, like nothing ever happened. I never had a panic attack since then and I never think about it. He told me that the therapy should go on for 6 months, or maybe 8 or 12 months depending on my progress. At some point, he said, we will decrease the doses of rivotril and lamictal and finally stop them, but Cipralex is the one that will do all the work until the end. And now I am wondering and asking you: Has anyone ever experienced panic attacks? What medicine have you taken? Does it ever stop completely after treatment?
