Once in a while I will have unfeeling well . Sometimes I will have headache, flu, cough or fever. Whenever I am sick, I will go to see doctors as soon as possible. I am full time mummy, it is impossible for me to get rest for 1 day. Once I am sick, I want to get consult from doctors and get to eat medicine so that I can have speedy recovery.
Do you see doctors once you feel sick or unwell?
Share with me here : What you will do if you are sick? Still carry on daily routine as usual? Or take a day off from your work?

meapas has a point. We also drink medicine all by ourselves. little unesayness doesn't require check-ups. But if you have Diabetes or any other ilness, then there's the time you could consult your doctor.

hi vingyan!^^
when i'm sick i usually medicate myself first using first aids. like last week, i had colds. i used water/juice therapy to relieve it. and it worked. when i have a fever or headache i would just take a paracetamol and drink lots of water and juice too. i don't go see a doctor immediately because i don't like going to the doctor. ^^;; and when i am sick, i still go to work. unless i can't really perform at the office, i still work. if my sickness is not tolerable anymore, then i go home and rest.^^

Thank you for your response here. It is good you have your own remedies to heal your sickness. No one know yourself better than you, ! I get to know some friends of mine don't like to see doctors too.
Do take care and try to give comments on my other discussions!

haha, thats why mummy need to really take care of own health, coz when we sick, no body take care of us. It is no off days too, where you can think can get a good rst. It is so unbearable when we sick especially after take the med that makes you drowsy, we mummy still need carry on the work and take care the kid, I don't really get a good time for rest. So I must always tell myself need to make my body strong.
Last time when I got sick, I will consult the doctor as soon too for fast recovery also for the sake of not to spread the sick virus to the kids. Now after I invest in some health products I don't fall sick easily.

Hello Lemonjude. It is glad to hear from you here. Yeah, I totally agree with you, mummy out there just need to take good care of ourselves in order to have a good condition everyday to take care the kids. It is good that you are going well in your health products. It is commonly tell that prevent is better than curing?

I am a stay at home mum too.. I can't afford to fall sick, as I don't have sick leave to apply..
My body will give me signals that I am going to sick, and I will have some paracetamols if I need to.. If it takes more than 2 days, then I hit the doctor (touch wood, but this has yet to happen)
When I used to work in corporate, I will take day off from work, as then I can rest well and not spread the virus to other colleagues of mine..

Hi cwong, being a stay at home mum is not easy... We don't have any sick leave, not even an hour leave, LOL.
My hubs always advice me to see doctors even I have only minor unfeeling well. He is worry the virus spread to the kids. More ever now the H1N1 virus is so worrying. In my country, the cases of H1N1 is getting more and more. It is better for us to consult doctor the earlier we can if we are sick.
Happy Mylotting!

Hello Cwong, since the H1N1 cases is increasing by day to day, we really need to take more action to get as healthy as possible. Now that the clinic or hospital are crowded with sick people. I am wondering if I get sick at this time, I don't know is good to see doctor or just buy some medication from nearer pharmacy. This is because I am afraid to get contact with other sick people in the clinics to closely, Who will know maybe 1 of them is H1N1 patient. Am I too self fish ?

I will try to buy light medicine in the pharmacy first before decide to go to the doctor. If I feel sick, I will take rest, maybe sleep for 2 or 3 hours and then drink medicine. If I'm not getting better, I will go to the doctor immediately. I'm a student and I can take a rest.. If I feel really bad, maybe I will absent to go to some courses and cancel to do my task..

Hello Chrysan T flower, thanks for your response here. Let me just ask you, if you get not heal after taking the medicine from the pharmacy, then you have to see doctor, is this a waste on what you have buy from the pharmacy? if you were going to the doctor directly, you may not need to spend extra money buy medicine from pharmacy. Yeah, once you are unwell and can not perform well, it is better to stay home to rest.

Hi VIngyan
No, I don't think it's a waste, since I can use that pharmacy medicine again as first solution when I sick in the future. Personally, I think it's not good if we too often go to the doctor for not too severe sick, because usually doctor will give us antibiotic and if we always drink it, it won't have same cure effect anymore, because seems like it produce certain imunity.. This was happened when I was child. Beside it, there's certain disease that doesn't need medicine to cure it, for example flu, we just need to eat good nutrient food, more vitamin C and take a rest longer. Thanks for your comment and hope you and your family stay healthy

Hello ChryasanTflower, thanks you for your response again. I know getting to much of antibiotics is not so good so our body. In fact, doctors always ask patient to finish the whole bottle of antibiotics. But as for me, once I get heal, immediately I will stop all the medicines which included the antibiotics.

You know sometimes when I am sick I still go to work. I just do not think that I am sick although it only make it severe. I do not consult doctor but drink medicine, have enough sleep, drink vitamin c and then go to work. Although the recovery is slow because I am still working, but I have no choice. I have to work for my family, if I stop in a day I will be doomsday for us.

If I get sick, I would still do the regular stuff tha tI would do at home becaus eI don't work now so I can still surf on the internet, walk my dog, water the plants etc. If I was at work, I would still go to work also depending on what illness I have, if it was just cold or cough, I wopuld definitely go to work, don't want to waste a paid day if it won't be counted as a sick leave paid day.

Hi Mermaidivy, thank you for your reply. Yeah, staying at home is the best for sick people. To get some works done is better than keep resting on the bed. You just get the right things to do when you are sick. Walking with your dogs is good for some fresh breath and waters the plants is good for you too as they give you more frsh air too. And don't forget to log into MyLOt when you surf net.

Hi chillpill, I also don't like to see doctors. When I was single, I used to see doctors only if I was serious in sick. But now I have married and have my children, I rather choose to see doctors the soonest so that I can get recover faster. It is no sick leave for a full time mother.

Go to Dr. Vindaloo, just like Courage . Well, it is obvious we go to doctor if we feel sick (seriously sick). But if that is only a cold, then we treat it simply at home with medicines we can get on the pharmacy. Plus special care and attention of the person we love.
I do get pampered when I do feel sick. I used to get a VIP treatment from hubby. He cooks for me, buys me medicine and massage my back. It is important that we do take care of our health. So precaution or prevention is better than cure. Take daily vitamins. Once in a while go for a short trip or vacation to relax and be stressed free.

strawberry, I like your comments, your precaution is better than cure is amazing! I do take some vitamins too. And eating more vegetables and fruits is a must to stay healthy. Doctors too always advise the patients take more fluids. Your hubby is so thoughtful. You will be the 'queen' when you get sick. He is so nice preparing food for you and help you massage your body.

If I'm sick? I will nurse myself, lol! I usually don't go for a check up for a simple symptom.. I just need to maintain my nutrition and increase my immunity by taking in supplements. I always make sure that my sickness will not affect my daily routine, like studying.

Hi theptnetworks, thank you for your comments. How amazing that you can nurse yourself... In fact, most of the people I know will do like what you say. When it is only small and simple symptom, they will only get medicine from pharmacy or take some vitamins or supplement. Hope you are doing well in your study and keep happy mylotting.

I usually wait a few days before I call the Dr. I am a full time mom too. If I am really sick, my husband will take some time off of work, Most of the time he will only work half a day and then will come home so I can rest. If I am sick I just do what is absolutely necessary, like taking care of the kids. I don't bother with the cooking full meals or the cleaning though.

Hi bmuchler, full time mum is always putting the family at her first place. Even we are sick, we still need to take care the children. But of course if we are really sick, we might skip the house chores or cookery. Maybe once in a while getting outside food for the family should not be a problem when we are sick.

I don't want to go to see a doctor or take the medicine immediately. If it's a cold or other health problems like this, I don't think it is serious. I will drink more water and have a good rest. I hope to recover by time rather than seeking the help from the doctor or take medicines. I will go to see a doctor and take the medicine when it is necessary.

I wish I could take time out every time I am sick! Unfortunately, unless I am in a really bad way I have to soldier on although I take it a little easier and do my work from my bed or better still just watch TV. I work from home so staying in my pyjamas all day is not a problem. When I had a job outside the home I used to call in sick when I felt a cold coming on; it’s bad enough dragging yourself in there when you’re sick let alone be scolded by workmates for spreading your germs! It does seem a waste to take a sick day and actually be sick though!
