Yes, it's official now. India is now ranked No.2 ahead of Australia in ICC ODI championship table. South Africa is still at No.1 spot but surprise surprise, Australia there is 7 ratings difference between India and Australia and India is ahead. There's only 1 rating difference between India and South Africa. I think with the current Indian form, India will surpass South Africa very soon.. There is only a minor difference in points between SA and Ind.
Thoughts please

Hello.
Although India is playing well now a days, but the current change in rankings is not because of Indian performance, rather due to poor performance of Australia. And Australia is one such team which though at present not performing well, but can bounce back at any time and can put India's ranking in danger. So, to maintain the ranking Indian players have to play really well in all their upcoming matches and try not to give any chances for the opponents to beat them.
It is always said that it is very difficult to maintain the top rank than to achieve it.
Happy upgradation of rank to all INDIANS.
Happy MyLotting.

Rightly said and I do agree with your views. India should maintain a high fitness level to perform better in next few matches.

Agreed with what u said. Which Australian players are currently out of form? They have been consistently performing bad for the past few months. They were out of t20 world cup so fast. Opposite of what used to be. They do have talent in them. They are not close to the greats they had. They always do come back. Currently they are not doing it. The last ashes test has put hopes on Australia coming back. If they can come back to what they were with McGrath, Gilchrist, Warne is doubtful. The current team is not what India would struggle with.

Indian team is definitely playing well under their new captain M.S. Dhoni but Australian's game has highly degraded. From past few months they are engage in many sorts of stupid acts and playing everything except cricket. They should behave on the field and maintain the spirit of the game.

I expected India to topple Australia but did not expect the seven point difference. The Indian ODI team have been playing really well for the past two years and totally deserve the number two ranking. Australia on the other hand have been dissapionting for the past year or so. They are missing great ODI players such as Hayden, Gilly and Mcgrath. They have seven ODI's against England and the way England have been doing, it looks like Australia will win and possibly close that gap.

yes it is true that india is no.2 now,but the difference between India and south afrika is only 1 rating..champions trophy is knocking at the door and India is in now top form and before this India is going to play a traingular series in Srilanka ,so if India will win the series then India will move on no.1and south Africa will move on no.2.....And the Australia have to give some extra ordinari performence to increase the rating.....

Current Indian team is one of the best that has been there. Dhoni is a good captain that keeps his cool. Gone are the days when opponents could remove Sachin and think abt winning the match. We have a long tail and all rounders like Pathan add to the strength. IPL has further strengthened the indian. We won t20 world cup. We should continue this too.
